    like I’d be so hurt if I never got to experience Capital Punishment on a late night walk outside because I randomly decided to pay Big Pun some respect and how that entire experience felt like a movie just walking down the dark streets like that’s one of my favorite albums all time now

    that’s the type of experience and potential interesting conversation around the music you missing out on with fans of hiphop by proudly claiming you not a fan of hiphop @davey

    studying the legends is a fundamental aspect of understanding why you enjoy the music you are currently experiencing in hiphop and if we really wanna get existential, a callback to our ancestors oral stories being passed down to future generations we can get to experience through educating ourselves on the art form and engaging in constructive conversations around the last 40+ years of hiphop to share with future generations and allow for the true spirit of hiphop culture to be maintained as opposed to becoming a caricature of itself as we continue to lose recipes
