    A lot of great music

Drake fans was fed good and if you include the papiconda leak as well, they had so much materials to enjoy for a lifetime

As an artist, he digressed big time, but as a rapper, he actually got better. His biggest problem today is that, he’s kinda uninspired, but $$$ is the most inspired he’s sounded in awhile imo.

Doesn’t mean he isn’t a great rapper though. I’ve never not been entertained, or somewhat impressed with Drakes bars. He just doesn’t have much to talk about, and he shouldn’t, he’s one of the most successful rappers ever.

    You don’t get

    Honestly Nevermind
    Her Loss
    $$$

Without his direction or should I say deviating from his status quo. Those are all in the top half of his discography in my opinion

    Not personally, no

Wasn't a comment on your opinion, just on the Ebro setup

To me, he's been on autopilot since Views, but I get it, if you can hit #1 and do it without putting forth a lotta effort, why not? And now the albums themselves are so f***ing long

Staying on the humble big dreams s*** while he’s a damn near billionaire would be corny

That’s not the progression of the SFG style of music and introspection

Y’all have peanut brains bro its scary

Genuinely disappointing that adults are this dumb lol

    LABRADOR

hell yeah f***ing love the music genre of rich 40 year old rapping about f***ing girls and doing half or even an ENTIRE tablet of upper or downer. It makes me feel alive

He completely devolved into making music for Andrew Tate Myron types who didn’t get p**** in school to live vicariously through the same way Kanye has similarly devolved into a vicarious avatar for a similar type of geek who uses contrarianism as a sole personality trait

    Its fascinating fr

i think if he shortened his albums theyd be much more well received critically but at the same time he does give each type of drake fan what they want on each album and theyve done numbers clearly so is it really that bad?

i think now hes at a more pivotal point in his career where the actual quality is going to make or break rather than catering to different types of fans

Because his legacy will be/was f***ed for doing that long before Push or Kendrick

2016-now is where the pop star rhetoric comes from

You can’t just money, success/statistics and b****es away any criticism is the recurring lesson here lol

The guy that makes Nokia and Toosi Slide?

  • Mar 4, 2025

    Hell naw

He stopped being an album artist (which he was really good at with SFG, TC, NWTS, and IYRTITL) and started focusing dominating the streaming era by creating projects that are designed more like playlists than albums (20 plus songs long, usually all over the place with no theme conceptually or sonically, made to cast the widest net possible with 1 or 2 songs for every type of fan which makes it hard to like as a whole unless you love all his styles)

The guy that makes Nokia and Toosi Slide?

    Phenomenal records

  • Sure.

I feel like he's a more polished version of the SFG artist.

Like, sure he's gotten way more richer and famous so the source material is different to a degree, but thematically the music is the exact same in a lot of ways.

Polar Opposites would fit perfectly on SFG for example.

Houstatlantavegas would fit perfectly on $$$4U.

He's a WAY better rapper and singer today, but he sticks to what he knows thematically and so, yeah I love the direction his musical journey has taken because there's a through line to it.

Once you strip the nostalgia of the past, and you take your biases out of the present music, IMO you'll see he's very much still the same artist for better or for worse.

  • Everything you love and hate about Drake now was very much there in the SFG / TML days.

last real Drake album for me was More Life with like a slight uptick when Her Loss came out. Everything else has been just there, its listenable but nothing that innovates the formula he had with the first 5 albums.
