KING SPAWNthey tried to do too much in the features/scope planning stage - while a large portion of Bethesda's best developers were finishing building the updated engine, Covid-19 struck and then Bethesda was acquired by Microsoft
however, i'm not defending them
they should have cut the things that didn't work from the game entirely and released Starfield with what they did have (main story and main systems) in early access citing that Covid-19 and Game Pass have changed the way they'll roll out the game - this way they'd be avoiding poor reviews based on bugs or performance and then when most of the content is there and works right @ 60fps on console, market a release date with all kinds of advertising incl. special Starborn or Constellation cosmetic content for the early access players

Had to restart console and game
Then flew to another system and a mysterious space station appeared

well, this isn't something they would have worried about if they managed things properly they would have had both what i suggested AND a Fallout spin off to go with the show

60fps dropping under 50fps is poor

Game was being boring
Big exposition dump followed by a quest with 4,000 lines of dialogue before you get to do anything interesting. The mission after was pretty cool though
