If the game exist I want to play it . Like really . Destiny 1 I played some at launch then fell off but one thing I can never speak ill of is the gunplay
Been playing this and it feels very linear; go to X talk to Y, go to X find Y
Without a true sense of exploration (e.g. on planets) and the endless loading screens I've been finding it hard to "get hooked"
Gunplay is still surprisingly decent & the political undertones are solid and not crude/amateurish like most games

The freedom is about how you approach many things but I could understand someone being gassed of the persuade , kill , talk to loop
It really just depends on your parameters of what makes up gunplay. If you’re just looking at pure gun/gun interaction in combat then yes it’s p good but I’m factoring in a lot more like the entire sandbox + how you attain those guns + how those guns are used in the sandbox (I.e. does everyone spawn w the same weapons vs does everyone have loadouts) + grenades + melees + extra gimmicky s*** like your abilities in Destiny
And it falls very flat for me in that big picture tbh
I’m only talking about how guns look and feel when you shoot them. Character movement also comes into play.
That’s all destiny has going for it.
All that other stuff you described sounds like general game design outside of the actual guns themselves.
If we could move and shoot destiny style in Starfield this would be top 10 all time nfs
Why am I allowed to walk into any building without alerting guards or security. Kinda atmo breaking

Well yeh i was strictly speaking gunplay
Its not a arena shooter so i dont see a point to even mention spawning with same loadout. Everything else u mention, sandbox, yh its fkn broken and doesnt take skill

Can you give an example of a building you don’t feel you should be able to walk into ? I feel like most of the time I can enter somewhere it’s because a sidequest is there

Any building with a restricted access section. every ryujin mission im walking into places I shouldn’t be and not getting caught

The ryujin ones it often depends on the floor . Especially later ones can get caught and have have to persuade them to not escalate . I’ve had to get clearance for various ryujin ones

you got to not react to everything . I can just read something like that and just move on. You can't react to every take as long as you are getting enjoyment out of it

i can react to whatever i want man, this s*** is all comedy
the mistake some of y’all make is thinking it means i’m taking anything seriously
if someone says some dumb s***, i’ma react cuz it’s funny lol

I don't think you are taking it seriously but humans going to human in general. I try to focus more on the constructive post then the vague post where its like "what are we really talking about". When someone comes in here and compares the game to Baldurs gate or gives 5 paragraphs about the game and they have played 0 minutes I kind of just check out. Especially the No Mans Sky people that come in here. I get you though
That’s a long winded response without saying what game
Lmao I spaced & forgot to answer that ngl
Halo 1 had amazing weapon synergy with the pistol, AR, plasma rifle, shotty + power weapons all able to outclass each other given the situation, most other weapons were awful tho. that’s MP perfection to me but I get how some people hate the pistol mechanics + grenade nukes
Unreal Tournament and Quake games are a GREAT example of shooter games with amazing syngery throughout the entire sandbox tho, that’s top tier for me along with Halo 1 tbh. Another game that comes to mind is Shadowrun.

Those factors are all pivotal in how guns interact with each other beyond them just shooting and hitting targets lol but I understand why people see it in a different light

Well that certainly doesn’t scream ‘top tier gunplay’ to me
& loadouts was an example given for one point. Another example of how guns are used in sandbox would be power weapons vs your starting weapons
Big divider here is I think weapon balance + other s*** is apart of gunplay while some think it’s just simply how the gun shoots and the feedback it gives
that’s okay w me

good examples so can't be mad at you . But more recent examples always desired. I agree on Halo 1, ShadownRun, Unreal Tournament and Quake though. I just think there is no way that since then you haven't vibed with games gunplay

Mmmmmm gotta think real hard lol I legit think MP games have gone so far downhill in the last years that idk if they’ll ever recover
I enjoyed H1Z1 and it’s gunplay a s***load for the most part but that game had MASSIVE issues with the shotgun despite the AR being one of the best guns I’ve ever shot in a game
Totally Accurate Battlegrounds had amazing gunplay but it wasn’t the most consistent because of your goofy ass player models and their physics
The Finals Beta had great gunplay honestly, can’t wait to play it again.
