Best year we’ve gotten in a long time

But as someone with 200+ hours in elite dangerous who didnt follow the leadup to release....the space flight is very disappointing and the worst part of the game. I had assumed the game was going to be elite dangerous like, with freeflight in space, jump anywhere, float aimlessly for hours, manual docking, cargo hauls through space as you fight off enemies, giant seamless universe that can be explored in any direction, it taking a while to traverse the vast unknown.
Its a real shame. I enjoy the game for what it is - skyrim in space, but i wish they had built a new engine so they could do what a game with a tiny fraction of the budget did 10 years ago.

And its a shame because the game is great. The quests are great, the citys and locations, its not too glitchy. The shooting is still mid but whatever. Its so funny to compare this to cyberpunk, the difference in quality is so massive and obvious in every facet of the gameplay, world, quests, presentation.

Even on a new engine I think what some of you are missing is design wise their aim was never to be elite dangerous. Like yes a new engine would help many things I am in here griping about many of them but their goal was never to be a space flight simulator at all. All their games have had fast travel, load times and not been simulator from beginning to end. In fact I have never seen any game company go from a focus on fun into simulation . Forza always been more sim and then they got horizon for slightly less but they always got that tone

I haven't played cyberpunk waiting on patch but you got this above cyberpunk in gameplay, world, quest presentation? Its interesting hearing both sides of that even though I don't think they need to be compared and different aims

lol damn I am about to go through cyberpunk for first time with patch and praying its as good as these people are acting like it is. I got it in july with dlc and got 3 hours in then heard about patch and put it on backburner

The NMS comparison is so dumb imo
People keep saying “NMS did space travel 10 years ago!” But forget to mention NMS looks like s*** and has about 1/10th the features and depth of Starfield
