Y’all don’t get tired of “ Xbox gamers don’t buy games “ when the games are on game pass ? Me personally would buy Starfield either way cause it’s the game I’m hyped for and pc of Xbox even if pirating was an option I want to own but why logically would a Xbox gamer buy most games coming on gamepass ? Same way many users who have premium plus wouldn’t buy the game itself if they don’t need to .

Gamepass was created to create a consistent service they would be subscribed to . Xbox one the issue was the always on bullshit original idea. Gamepass is essentially fixing that dumb idea. The issue with Microsoft is they were so anti used games and still are in some ways . GameStop makes money on used games but Xbox does not . They wanted that market . It’s not because Xbox users weren’t buying games . With that terrible e3 the amount of Xbox users significantly lowered at launch compared to ps4 where people knew they could exchange games. Halo 4, gears 5 , gears 4 all sold copies . Some game ideas didn’t take off yes but to say it’s because they don’t buy games is just factually incorrect. Microsoft essentially told Phil Spencer if he didn’t think of a way Xbox would shut down just because if they sold per game they didn’t like used games , borrowed games etc not getting a piece of pie . Should they have focused on just making good games ? Of course but again that e3 was key

Better question is why do some of y’all root against a game being good or successful ? Like human beings don’t work there . Say this as someone working on an unannounced game . There isn’t a Sony or Microsoft game where I’m like “ that’s not going to sell well” . Suicide squad going to struggle but I’m not actively rooting against it . It’s just not for me . I was surprised hogwarts legacy sold that much not mad at it . Hope something tops it but glad it did well . More than sales don’t you just want to enjoy the game ?
