Love most of Bethesda's catalogue but the last time they put out a game with fun gameplay systems we were probably all like 10 years old man. Ultimately I go to them because their games are unlike anyone else's in terms of the type of stuff you can encounter, but their combat is basically guaranteed to be some ass

I’m not even necessarily expecting that (though there’s no reason to not think that the game can’t have good writing, that’s kind of important for an RPG).

My question is, what is this game gonna do that will elevate it to greatness, beyond just being an aesthetic shift.

I mean, for example, Fallout New Vegas had literally all the makings of a Bethesda title, but its writing and quest design is what ultimately elevated it.

Will Bethesda be able to offer something that is gonna be a “moment” for the genre after all this time?
