exactly I feel like the length of the episode is at fault here. The story they were trying to convey is too large for an episode under 40 mins. also how the village was saying they were gonna miss them felt disingenuous considering how little time they spent together.

he's a different person because of the situation and empathy he's feeling for the village and the kids. considering what happened to his parents, why let the same thing happen to the village children.

Filoni's fingerprints were all over this episode. It was written almost exactly how a clone wars cartoon episode is written. Theres a lot of dumb plot stuff in it that happens for convenience and seems really lazy. Like the whole second plan to get the walker. Stuff like that you give a pass in a cartoon but in this it really stinks.

I think the biggest problem with this eps imo is how Earth like everything is. There's nothing but humans and 1 or 2 droids in that village, the planet itself is super normal there's almost no futuristic tech, even the aliens just felt like normal thugs not some crazy over top thieves we usually see in star wars.
