Same I feel like he’s a case where the podcasts detract from the specials because we’ve basically heard funnier, loose, purer versions of the jokes from the conversations. Felt the same about Theo’s last one and most of the LA comedy guys tbh

couldnt even get through 5 minutes of theos and I love him too. the more specials I watch the more I realize how few are actually lol funny

I think it was solid but he hasn’t translated his podcast energy to standup yet. One day he’ll have a classic special. Burr’s new special also felt a bit bland compared to his podcast stuff lately but still solid enough. The modern gold standard is the Shane Gillis one. I really dug Joe Lists too.

I caught Shane gillis’ new hour last night. As good if not better than his yt special, I don’t think there’s another comic with under 25 years at his level rn. Also the first time Ive been to a sold out club, the energy was wild.

She went from a writer for Conan to doing stand up on his show all the time. She needs a good special to put out

gillis and normand the only ones out rn who have tolerable specials everyone else is better on podcasts
