I feel that. Because of how much story she took up to it feels like a spiderman/Jean grey movie rather than a spiderman movie with Jean grey in it. I was fine with the punisher in here even if they did make his character a lil extra family friendly for this

Just feels like mcu spiderman has never had a chance to hold a movie on his own. Feels like a mix between the marvel forcing everything together and not trusting tom holland to hold a movie by himself

That and they needed someone to emphasize Peter was creating a universal power dampener so people aren’t surprised when it shows up in x men

I mean, Sony is only lending Spider-Man to Disney at the cost of having MCU characters in the movies. They’ve been making money by having other characters in his movies so far. So, unless people magically don’t care about Tom’s inclusion in the MCU anymore I wouldn’t expect this trend to stop lol

I could see this trilogy being better than the last Tho. Tom holland said he’s already thinking about passing the torch.

I think this trilogy will be:

2nd movie :symbiote corrupts Peter and risks the relationships he just repaired with Ned/mj

3rd movie: hob goblin and passing the torch to miles morales and taking time off like Peter in the PlayStation spiderman 2 game ending.

Would work perfect for the mcu cause they could bring back Peter anytime they wanted

Yeah I’m not expecting it to change. I also trust the mcu far more than I trust Sony with spiderman, even if it is predictable

It’s geninuely crazy how much better looking this movie is than the Watts trilogy.

Even in the context of the MCU in general. Like, Doomsday looked like the typical Marvel fare, so I don’t know if this is an indication of Marvel allowing visual distinction between movies now with proper lighting, color grading and on location shooting or if they’re just giving Spidey special treatment.

Her letting go of MJ on the roof is less of an issue because she would 100% assume Peter would save her.

He could still fail and that’s a crazy evil thing to do vs saying “ they have someone I love hostage “. The whole plot to me would come across better if she made some attempt to tell him why she was doing what she was doing vs continuously doing evil things . Peter and spider man have clashed with dodc before and he knows they aren’t a perfect organization yet blindly believes them

I like Yelena in this but also feel he kind of exports what should be his intelligence to Yelena and then his emotional intelligence to Jean De Wolf. With MJ helping him crack the suppressor. Its another movie where still even after high school and college years he still kind of lacks street smarts and smarts. He follows his intuition successfully though. So now MJ and Ned know yet again. Ned has the spidey tracker so a villain can easily choose to hold them hostage or put them in peril again. When part of the point of being forgotten to me was that we dont continously see him save MJ which weve seen him save MJ 4-10 times in these movies.

Exactly this I mean his most pivotal moment was " who decides what powers should and shouldn't be suppressed" which could have been delivered by someone else. Hulk was kind of just unnecessary but also served as one of the first people to remember it was Peter. Would be a bit better if again didnt see in trailers

In a movie where scorpion , Hammerhead and Tombstone exist.

They wanted to get Hulk in this for toys and trailer purposes. A lot more of this movie could have been accomplished with Spider Man only characters.

Rhino as well. Sometimes forcing MCU characters in takes people out of the movie a bit

After a movie where she lead to a man getting hit by a car, threw mj off a roof, possessed the hulk. Freeze the entire area leading to mass car crashes. This is the guy she would want to kill or torture the most. More than Spider Man .

Then Punisher is an actual killer and nearly kills Peter . Faces no consequences or questioning for it

Got Hulk sent to a psych ward and didnt even check on him

MJ job offer likely at Oscorp or Wilson Fisk Enterprises.

Kinda stuck on when she had the opportunity to get MJ. During the events of the helicopter was she just in the area and bounced around following Peter home and what not?
