Onward might be top 1 Pixar I cried from the first minute to the walk out to the car
Nah it got me pissed off at the ending he never got to meet his father wtf
interesting thread on twitter (blacks only)
https://twitter.com/lesliemac/status/1343916965098827777She saying there was no writers even tho 1 of the main writers was black. Ik it’s not much to her but ultimately this was Doctors movie which is why he’s the director...
Idk man like after actually watching the movie it’s hard for me to just say this was a “black” film cus it’s clear as they said in the article it’s a concept that could apply to any one and the original idea for a long time wasn’t for Joe to be black
Barber shop and salon scenes and just the cast mostly being black kinda showed me they were in the room for this. The animation as well was a huge improvement from the way blacks were depicted in animation prior..Even the jazz and some song choices
Only thing I was worried about was if my gf would hate it for this too cus she told me about this trope before seeing it and she ended up loving the film and didn’t mention it
might have to peep I love crying
Most people don’t agree w me tbh but I really liked itb
Nah it got me pissed off at the ending he never got to meet his father wtf
Then you missed the whole point of the movie dawg lmao
That’s a valid complaint though

onward is significantly over-looked to be f***ing honest. Not sure about it being better then SOUL though. That’s probably Cap

Soul to me was good but it was lacking that spark imo, I feel like I could see where they kinda picked and chose elements from other Pixar movies

Interesting didn’t feel like that was the case for me at all
What’s your take on The Good Dinosaur?
that's not the point
the point is to subtly say that you can have no purpose and still live enjoying life
otherwise what woulda came out with it? everyone is something and someone watching film end up hopeless
I loved this , it does the opposite of telling you to find your passion and purpose like most films do, take it slow and don’t obsess over achieving something all the time
live your life to enjoy the world around you and be a multi-dimensional person
I wish I got to see this in theatres but I’m not going to lie, being able to watch this in the comfort of my home with my loved ones was really enjoyable.
I know for a fact they wouldn’t of gone to the theatres with me to watch this lol.

I haven’t seen it, but the thing I saw about this movie was I totally noticed the dynamic Pixar makes where there’s 2 characters who need to learn stuff from each other
Soul to me was good but it was lacking that spark imo, I feel like I could see where they kinda picked and chose elements from other Pixar movies
They talked whole movie bout spark
I understand the racial critiques and there were moments in this that left me uncomfortable but I did enjoy it nonetheless...
They talked whole movie bout spark
It’s more like I noticed Pixar tropes and dynamics that are present in all the movies that I hadn’t seen before
Honestly might be top 1 Pixar
this was phenomenal
Wish they could leave all these trash ass sequels in the dust but I get why they have to keep making them

I agree to this. This movie did not cater to one colour. One thing I noticed with this movie is the number of languages and ethnicities seen in this movie.
Compare this movie to previous movies - Incredibles, Up, hell Toy Story might as well have been called White Story.
I had a story I wanted to pitch to Pixar one day but now I feel like it’s too similar to this. I was a few years too late
Maybe Dreamworks will take it as a bootleg version
Really?
Nah 🧢
