Guy is conveniently ignoring the very real possibility of getting locked out of a PSN account to instead highlight how a fire could burn your physical games

The very real possibility the only people that get banned are sending death threats to users to sending p*** to official Sony accounts lol

Somehow I’ve bought digital for decades and never been banned… must be luck

People have gotten locked out over something as simple as forgetting a password or not having access to an old email/phone number tied to the account

Just extremely funny you're acting like these things don't exist, and instead going on a tangent about how a domestic fire will burn everything you've ever bought

My overall point is pretty simple. Digital can withstand anything, fire, flood, hurricane, robbery, some little cousins f***ing with your s***, etc. basically any scenario the physical has issues. Even disc rot or the disc drive itself breaking down. Thus, a digital library is a solid investment that protects from these issues. My point isn’t that because of that you should just have no physical possessions at all, but in this one instance, having digital is superior in many ways.

Digital books are superior in their own ways, like audiobooks, which allow you to listen while doing something else. Physical books have their benefits as well, it’s up to you to decide ultimately. For games, I feel like it’s more cut and dry.

why cant we decide with games like we do with books too lol

I know a total of zero people who have ever had their entire house burn down at any point in their lives

Yes, it's possible, but you're acting like it's a guaranteed thing that will happen to everyone at least once in their lifetime

People are more likely to forget a password than they are to have their home burn to the ground

Why are you hyper focusing on fires? There’s floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, robberies, disc rot, wear and tear, etc

I’m just saying it’s not permanent. People act like it’s more permanent than digital because of bans and license revoking but physical is just as fragile

  • imo games should come like this with ps5 + ps4 + digital

esp if they gonna charge more and monetize in-game components

Houses burn down all the time that’s why we have fire departments

Congrats to not knowing anyone who was suffered but lots of people lost their homes to even just wildfires, let alone huge events like the sf earthquake

All things that don't happen to anyone on a regular basis

They are tragic and extremely unfortunate events, but they are not common for the majority of people
