on there new episode they talked about maoism for a bit dasha was like “mm maoism is like peasant rule right” and then they both talked about the GLP and Cultural Revolution for a little bit clearly knowing nothing about the subject and then later talked about how it’s important to study history and i was dying

nah they missing the socialism part well even if PatSoc use it just as branding but modern day CPC is the dialectical transformation of the nationalism of the kmt and socialism of the mao era CPC

oh u wanted a serious response
hmm i guess since many people of the Left wing kmt ended up joining the democratic groups of the CPC and going through the conferences of the CPC and lines struggle u see many of the rightist of the party were from the left wing branch of the kmt, anti-imperialist democratic people but not communists that allied with the CPC and KMT generals that just made it easy for the CPC towards the end of civil war

I don't know if I agree with them but some say "Mao won the battle, Chiang won the war"

nah Chiang had no real ambitions for China other than enriching his own pockets and legacy he still lost the war since i think even Taiwan replaced his portrait with Sun Yat-Sen

He did have a vision for China even if it involved enriching his own pockets, and China resembles his more than Mao's in many ways. The legacy part is where I disagree since its Sun Yat Sen and Mao's legacy respectively which Taiwan and China claim today.

by the legacy part i meant Chiang cared how’d he look and of neither China claims him so i feel we agree on that
though what was Chiang vision for China i only know it from the CPC view which mainly talked about his corruption and such.
Even then modern day CPC is much more closer to Sun Yat Sen three principles which Chiang didn’t seem to be a fan off (memory hazy on this so correct me)
Does modern china seem closer to what Chiang would have wanted than Mao id say yeah but i wouldn’t go out to say he won the war they just both ended up losing

He was conservative but still claimed adherence to the 3 principles. I agree they both kinda lost end of the day.

So glad I don’t know who these people are
The "rate of profit tending to fall" is a concept that gets kind of ignored in the leftist discourse
The US might have hit a stale mate in the Korean War but they won the propaganda battle hands down

Because most leftists haven’t actually read any political economy

Yessir, but it's a really powerful concept if you think it through

"the US may have lost the vietnam war, but there's a mcdonalds in ho chi minh city"
I think the author is exaggerating if not outright fabricating some of these examples, but either way these passages don't make Chinese kids seem "alright" at all?

I completely agree its just unfortunately the reason people don’t talk about it is because most leftists are so adverse to political economy or anything that isn’t “immediately practical”
Which is of course nonsense but yeah
