Vancouver has good transit and is miles ahead of most NA cities. theres 3 automated train lines and some BRTs + dedicated bus lanes that come every few minutes; these 2 options can get you around just as fast as driving. taking the regular bus is slow af tho cuz they get stuck in traffic and have a billion stops. but most services are modern and clean

i get around fine without a car, my trips just take maybe 2-3x as long compared to driving on average. and its so f***ing annoying having to switch buses, i spend so much time out of my day just waiting for the bus to come

decent amount of bike + walking infrastructure too

doing the outdoorsy and sight seeing stuff beyond the city requires a car, but theres a lot of car sharing services people use
