A friend of mine is asexual (also is an high-functioning autist with Aspergers and very smart) and he's now getting super deep into anti-natalism He isn't a communist but he is vaguely leftist. I don't personally agree with anti-natalism, in fact I am pro-natalist, but I respect the fella enough to entertain his thoughts. Some of the anti-natalism s*** is pretty dark and suicidal though. There's this German anarchist who did anti-natalism and pessimism and he killed himself at like age 31 sometime in the 1800s, my friend thinks he is cool

I'd argue it would be the exact opposite. If you have to only work 10h, 20h a week, and have a bunch of free-time, and relationships are more based on love than financial considerations (since everyone is more or less equal), then wouldn't you be much more willing to have a child?

Birth rates are lower in developed countries because simply put women have to work longer hours and can't raise a child on the side easily, plus life being more expensive, plus universities/colleges not being built for mothers to go study there easily so many have to push off children to a later age.
