i can see the appearance of knowing marxism in-depth, i thought he was gonna be mostly positive figure for marxism-leninism after he dropped the Stalin video. Now however i’ve completely changed my opinion on him, he often mystifies and makes things harder to understand through bring unnecessary philosophy which he doesn’t even seem to understand more than a wikipedia read like on Heidegger for example, and makes it even harder to understand, like go read Mao or Marx and you can see how easy it already is to understand since the authors tried to make their work available to the masses as much as they can. There’s bits and pieces where i see him having a solid understanding like when he discussed how capitalist imperialism is different from the imperialism before, but as time goes on those moments seem to be rarer and rarer and more it seems to be just a political streamer grift. Haz just gives off the appearance of being knowledgeable due to just using philosophical jargon when in reality there’s nothing behind the words he says.

The whole plays a character thing i can understand for entertainment value but i don’t see a use of Haz outside being an lolcow.

didn’t Haz say we live in socialism cause markets are based of social cues or something like no way anyone with an actual understanding of Marxism can fall for his grift

He’s definitely mainly entertainment to me, but I prefer someone like him that talks about Marxism-Leninism over someone like hasan that seems to know nothing

Why do so many socialist leaders develop a cult of personality?

it may seem ridiculous but you look at how many people consider podcasters their personal best friends parasocially and then it all makes sense

for example i swear half of cumtown listeners consider nick mullen their closest friend

While I think “cult of personality” accusations are overblown (I don’t think there’s that significant of a difference between socialist “cults of personalities and how we treat US presidents), they’re typically crafted by opportunists for within the leaders circle for their own selfish reasons and not the leaders themselves. For example, Mao hated any semblance of a cult of personality that was being developed around him, particularly because this was being lead by the arch-opportunist Lin Biao, who had a lot of ulterior motives for doing so. Mao didn’t even want the Little Red Book published, which is something Lin spearheaded. They’re often crafted by people like this trying to gain political clout and prey on peoples tendency to think of the world through the lens of Great Man Theory, which is something we’re all plagued by to some extent being that it’s one of the more powerful vestiges of liberal society

I feel like marx and lenin have that cult of personality too even to the point where it becomes quasi-religious even though we should be finding where they fell short and figure out where to remedy those things (as we should do with all socialist figures)

I'm not immune to it lowkey im still a lenin fanboy and marx too but at least im aware of it
