im confused what reforms are they specifically doing to these companies

the article says "...remake the technology, education and property sectors to curb cost pressures and better serve ordinary people. The new model appears to place common prosperity, as President Xi Jinping has put it, ahead of helter-skelter growth." but thats pretty vague

Probably manufacturing quotas and price point regulation to allow for reliable and cheap devices that’ll be available to citizens

Here's a quick thing about the private education market in particular

Looks like no private education company can go public among some other things like censorship of foreign online classes

for the non-nihilists itt (only half jest)

do you think there’s ground to be gained for class consciousness in the fact that most people do seem to see an issue with money in politics or is it not enough

i think there would have to be enough people in this sort of limbo, that would agree to socialist assessments/analysis of the issue with politics being driven by the highest bidder,

even those that wouldn’t consider themselves socialist

i think if u have a solid argument with that it’s a good starting point

ALSO Just the basic idea of the unfortunate reality that millions of people’s basic needs for survival are not being met, breaks it down to a simplicity most people could understand even without a education in the area

    As Rosa Luxemburg noted:
"Friedrich Engels once said: “Bourgeois society stands at the crossroads, either transition to socialism or regression into barbarism.” What does “regression into barbarism” mean to our lofty European civilization? Until now, we have all probably read and repeated these words thoughtlessly, without suspecting their fearsome seriousness. A look around us at this moment shows what the regression of bourgeois society into barbarism means. This world war is a regression into barbarism. The triumph of imperialism leads to the annihilation of civilization. At first, this happens sporadically for the duration of a modern war, but then when the period of unlimited wars begins it progresses toward its inevitable consequences. Today, we face the choice exactly as Friedrich Engels foresaw it a generation ago: either the triumph of imperialism and the collapse of all civilization as in ancient Rome, depopulation, desolation, degeneration – a great cemetery. Or the victory of socialism, that means the conscious active struggle of the international proletariat against imperialism and its method of war. This is a dilemma of world history, an either/or; the scales are wavering before the decision of the class-conscious proletariat. The future of civilization and humanity depends on whether or not the proletariat resolves manfully to throw its revolutionary broadsword into the scales. In this war imperialism has won. Its bloody sword of genocide has brutally tilted the scale toward the abyss of misery. The only compensation for all the misery and all the shame would be if we learn from the war how the proletariat can seize mastery of its own destiny and escape the role of the lackey to the ruling classes."

as the contradictions of late stage capitalism continue to exponentially become apparent the truly important question is will the people be equipped with the historical dialectical understanding to transition towards socialism or will the obvious failings of capitalism be coopted toward some other reactionary end.

imo I don't see the most gullible, propagandized people on the planet to get material dialectics without some incredible drastic event happening. but the work done now to sow the seeds of marxism is the only possible chance we have.

    @Synopsis

I‘m anti-capitalism because Inequality creates social division & the rich are exploiting the poor.

And I‘m not really anti-communist because of the idea. I‘m more against followers who deny the killing of Uyghur muslims or act like some leaders who killed many people were gods just because they want to defend their ideology. And mostly because of radical lefts in my home country (Turkey) and their support of terrorist organizations like the PKK. (Before you try to argue against me yes I‘m against Erdogan and turkish nationalism too). And I‘m not against Kurds I like the Peshmerga for example. Plus I don‘t fw the idea that businesses are ultimately owned by the government and I want personal property.

I just think there is no perfect system or ideology for human nature because we are too complex. Maybe in the future - I hope so.

read Blackshirts & Reds by Michael Parenti

i think you'd find it a very interesting read

Do any of you guys have experience organizing a study group?

I'm temporarily moving away from my city to a college town where I know nobody. I'd rather form an org that actually does praxis similar to what I've been doing but since I don't know anybody I feel like a study group might be the best route then developing it into an org.
