In the middle of Walter Rodneys rn.
Also I had read the chapter On Violence a couple times before for classes but only recently read the full book. It’s one of those that you’ll always pick up on new lessons when rereading. It’s a tough one

for sure there have been a few portions already I’ve had to go back and read a few times to really understand what he’s saying
"In 1843-1844 Marx began to call himself a Communist, because he saw "true Communism" as the fullest possible development of human potentialities, of human self-determination, of human culture, and because he was reinforcing his philosophical attack on alienation by making the proletariat as a 'universal class' the center and point of his critique of modern society. 'The criticism of religion', he wrote in 1844, 'ends in the teaching that man is the highest being for man , it ends, that is, with the categorical imperative to overthrow all conditions in which man is a debased, forsaken, contemptible being forced into servitude.'"
page xxiii of the intro to the portable karl marx which roughly is a small 600 pages lmao
