i've been reading up on history of comm in russia like pre-ussr and during so thats fun
S*** basically dead
I think due to the fact people are busy and stuff it'd require more entry level, basic explanations, excerpts, instead of whole texts would be more manageable,
but idk
Like "Today we're looking at a few excerpts from _ and discussing the merit/value of it"

Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock condemned the arrest of state Representative Park Cannon, who was handcuffed and forcibly removed Thursday from the Georgia State Capitol after she sought entry to the governor’s office as he signed a sweeping overhaul of state election law.
Multiple videos posted online show Georgia State Patrol officers arresting Cannon, a Democrat, after she knocked on the door of Republican Governor Brian Kemp’s office, even as onlookers identified her repeatedly as a lawmaker. Cannon, a Black woman, was taken into custody by several White officers, fueling claims that Black protesters are treated more harshly by law enforcement than White demonstrators.
How much has everyone read on russia pre-1917
a bit i learnt about Romanovs and Stalin got couple books at home i read about these eras due to learning about it at school
learning about Stalin and soviet union at the time i sorta made me admire how they can go from undeveloped s*** hole to one most industrialised countries in the world in one generation
doesn't take away that stalin killed lots people but looking at things critically is important on understanding on the past and how we can improve in the future

I think it’s important to look at both the successes and failures of Socialist countries in the past. Too many MLs view the Soviet Union as a paradise when it definitely wasn’t. But it also had some huge accomplishments.
Obviously Stalin was a bit too paranoid but that doesn’t destroy the good things he did

yeah def necessary to factor in the context of the time period and accurate information to fully assess him and Russia at the time.
That’s why i don’t feel like i can speak on him yet although i have some basics, just because i wouldn’t be saying much of anything
But then you probably have millions of people with their extremely persuasive and strong “CoMmuNiSm KilLed 100 mIlLIon” ideology ready to go

i am not even a marxist but i want to give credit where credit is due. I will give credit to cuba also for couple things, even Venezuela cause there is more to met the eye if you look into it though Maduro to differentiate was very poor economic move.
something i am curious about and meaning to ask this thread for ages
was lenin right to go straight from federalism > socialism or should he had followed what marx said wqhich was from federalism to capitalism to socialism then eventually to communism

He probably could've done the initial transition better but I don't think he would've had to of gone full blown capitalist
