i’m going through For Marx as well rn since i found the book at my uni lmao was going through Marx pre-capitalist economic formations on these long ass bus rides

also can u expand the young marx being used by rightists,

Althusser explains it much better than I possibly could, but it’s primarily for two reasons. One being the young Marx’s emphasis on productive forces over the relations of production, and the other being the residual Hegelianism he had which of course brought with it certain idealist tendencies

These things make his early writings much more appealing to revisionists, and they tend to over emphasize these over his later works such as Capital (which most of them haven’t read anyway)

This guy I know joined the army and his Instagram stories have made me realize that for most rich countries the army is just a place where young guys go to play pretend in "training exercises".

Why do communists do so much to critique the choices of the heads of nations (Mao, Stalin) and not the fundamentally collective choices that were made in their stead

  • Nov 24, 2022

Like I get the part of criticizing their theory or places where their individual behavior mattered

  • Nov 24, 2022

    But the other stuff

Does capitalism dictate that to be necessity?

    Elaborate

I'm not sure how to explain where I was going with that but for one:

I just would guess maybe stalin and mao would be more interesting to focus on for some people than delving into other leaders because they are so criticized and elevated on that basis, infamy
