basically bolsonaro's relations with the US managed to be objectively worse than than lula's ever was, but the difference is whereas lula may not fall in US interest foreign-policy wise, on the flip side he's never going to attempt like "real" anti-US coalition policy like bolsonaro. lula is basically non-aligned but bolsonaro is very much on the ANTI-GLOBOHOMO THE GLOBALIST AMERICANS ARE TURNING OUR KIDS GAY WE GOTTA SIDE WITH RUSSIA wave. regardless of foreign policy preference, from the US preferential stance they're always going to err more on the side of neutrality than otherwise; ESPECIALLY now.
