Nah cat herpes is different from human herpes. It affects the eyes and respiratory system. But it’s still not curable 😞

I watch a lot of cat fostering stuff and it's scary how often cats will suck on their brothers thinking they're feeding on their mother, they usually have to separate them

Vet called me today since I wanted to hear how long I have to separate them and how things would be if I kept the kitten

They said that the Lysine for the herpes/upper respiratory, I wouldn’t need to use it his whole life, only when he gets flare ups such as red eyes or coughing and it’s just a small squirt of gel on his food.

She also said I can let them meet when the kitten stops showing symptoms.

I asked her if keeping the two is a good option and she made it sound like it was. Just be monitoring the cats and if they do get sick just bring them in.

Gonna get link his next vaccine for the herpes soon.

I was getting a little worried I’d have to give up the kitten but I think after the vet call I don’t have any big worries. I’m only really stressed out about cleaning up so much litter around the house. Link tracks litter allot and the kitten does now too 😂

I was using one of these for Link up until about a week before I found this kitten.

I actually threw it away too cuz link was getting so big for it could’ve used the f*** out of it rn

I had just gotten the kitten a open box with small sides so he can get in it. And I got link a bigger one with that style only taller walls.

For some reason I thought it might help keep them from spreading litter lol

Have you tried Link with softwood pellets for litter? It cuts down on 98% of the mess. Hell of a lot cheaper too.

Update:

Wednesday, I formally introduced the two for about a hour. They did pretty well. They both a couple knuckleheads though and want to run around the house and play.

Thursday, I did the same thing but a little longer. There was short periods of time where everything was at peace between them running around like banshees.

Still keeping them separate while I go to work.

But yeah things are going pretty well so far 😊
