this is an odd way to phrase it but i thought he woulda been like a psuedo break-out star of the scene by now which is maybe like what you're inferring . hes doing really well and his catalogue is absolutely insane atp to me i think the people that know him think he stands out in the scene too he just hasnt had the biggest of cosigns or whatever yet
Yea it’s kinda ironic because it seems like his peers are more accessible than him

damn idk i feel like mike & mavi have the most "crossover appeal" or w/e personally

Mavi def does but MIKE is a bit more left feel and to add he has no social media presence
@sakaree relistening to the new Master Holy u really snapped on this project, so many memorable tracks
1,2,4,5,7 are my favs I think :) Still big fan of the Breakthrough beat in particular. Easily my fav Holy project yet tbh
tbch only liked select tracks from the Ade albums (tho there's some gems there for sure)
aye

Would add sage to this as a number 1 btw

He's still bigger than Mavi tho, when you look at youtube views MIKE has quite a few with 200k while Mavi has one near-200k upload of LTST but otherwise mostly sub-100k vids.
MIKE's often rly experimental but still accessible or just plain good enough to hook ppl. Also he just (deservedly) got a very loyal and growing fanbase, he's just been incredibly consistent and prolific over some 5 years while also continually evolving his sound

Tbh I also just feel like he's not interested in celeb life at all, like he did like 1 interview last year, his insta is private and on his twitter he just mostly retweets friends dropping
Mavi for example seems much more eager to reach people and get his face out there
Expound on that influence of MIKE's bro
I dunno like he seems to me like the most influential rapper on that whole abstract mumble rap thing. It's something which started with Earl but he brought that to another level where it sounds more like he's just mutterIng to himself, I hear that type of delivery a lot now.
Also the whole glitchy, muddy and off kilter beats he and Ade pioneered are everywhere in the underground now too.
Lastly I've just been noticing on twitter how producers and rappers in the scene look up to him, where it seems to me like he's def a big "rapper's rapper" (+ "producer's producer"?) rn

You’re right about it although we’ve seen Te allusive vibe work that way for artists but yuh he seems aggressively mellow and in his own lane which is nice
Would add sage to this as a number 1 btw
Yeah I'm kinda shocked at how many ppl on here loved SoS. Very cool to see

I feel you
Crazy how much credibility and respect he has in the game at such a young age. The future's in very good hands

For sure
Plus he was way more famous than all these dudes pre music. Pro skater signed to the most culturally relevant streetwear brand oat, came up with that whole odd future crew back then, Calvin Klein campaigns now, mos feature
Sage could really be one of the biggest names in rap music if he cared to pursue that, hopefullly he just does exactly whatever he’s been doing though he’s got it
There are certain pockets of like creative showcase discord & subreddits where it’s just like 300 Mike clones as a community LMAO

The biopic will be crazy
just found out on the Supply & Demand deluxe by Vegyn collaborator Lord Apex and V Don there's a track with Fly Anakin and Ankhlejohn
another bonus cut was also with Westside Gunn. Album was tight, recommended

Also V Don, Da$h, Ankhlejohn and Sauce Heist droped a seriously fire EP last year, hidden gem!

Black Noi$e coming out identifying as an anime character
(back in Alc's stu with Earl?)
Y’all seen this? S***s sad to see man
To me, it sounds like he was being paranoid and envious he didn't immediately get the same attention as a solo artist (which, at that time and still he was and is just not a rapper on the same level as MIKE..).
I'm tired of all these Ade confessionals being about "he took my beats off the project man!!1!"
like obviously on Tears of Joy that was already a long ass project and there were so many incredible beats, Ade had two of the best but I think it was better he trimmed the fat.
