I still cant get into Medhane's album. And no it has nothing to do with the s*** in the summer. When it dropped it didn't do as much for me as own pace or even full circle for that matter. The beats for the most part are lifeless to me

That's fair, can't fault you for giving it a shot. Personally think its his best solo work. Still think he has a much better project in him nonetheless, meshing his more experimental beats and more conventional, but it scratches that melancholic, nostalgic itch for me and I think his writing is at its best on it.
