I think someone was already talking about this itt, but damn Navy's rly talking about quitting weed because of addiction on Back to Basics?
wild to hear that talked about in rap. But also it must be so hard to quit gas being around Earl
wasn't someone in the ig vid from xmas smoking a fat doobie in the back too?
He was still rolling up in the YNS interview too I think, so that must be a recent thing
Listened to a couple of MIKE albums and was kinda underwhelmed, just hearing may god bless your hustle for the first time tonight
this s*** is nice!!
What’s another mike project that sounds like may god bless your hustle? I’ve heard war in my pen and it wasn’t really doing much for me, is tears of joy considered his next best? Similar sound to MGBYH?

Yeah that was Sideshow in the back smoking lmao he makes music too. He had a video in July with Earl in it

his sound evolved a lot and every album has a bit of a different texture to it (one thing which makes him such an exciting producer rn), imo other slums+ projects from 2017 have more in common with MGBYH than other MIKE projects do tbh.
As for his best I think you can rly find someone for every project he's released since who regards that one as a favorite, but many would say MGBYH, WIMP or Tears of Joy, but I think at this point a lot would also agree he's still getting better and 2020 was his strongest year yet.
I'd say try Weight of the World next, his writing is really strong on that one.

!https://youtu.be/EyLVVjRfzjkoh yeah I was gonna say it's Sideshow again but I wasn't entirely sure I saw the face right. Damn he's really Earl's artist in resident crazy, he bout to dump something serious on us too...
edit: that track is crazy
Jadasea been quietly going crazy this year. Another drop? Damn
6 drops in a little over a year... some genuine classics among them too imo. It's so wild I basically thought he never pursued music seriously after Darkest Shades of Blue by Edgar in f***ing 2013, never expected he would just quietly hone his skills and come back f***ing with the best in the game. Still think he lowkey outrapped MIKE and Med that night in London too
highly recommend catching him live
first solo Mavi track I ever heard (after his Ensley feature)
thought he was an Earl clone at first but this grew on me big time
BLP2020 now finally joined the 10 club for me too, MIKE really was unable to miss this year
amazed time and again how this dude production rewires your brain with every listen until you you're addicted

I’ve been high every day since I was 10 and I’m two days into the first week I’ve spent in seventeen years not smoking or doing anything - this album hits like a motherfucker, too grateful for it right now

jesus christ man, smoking smoking too? Sounds p f***ed up for your lungs... Even though weed is a very "soft" d*** it is f***ed up ppl don't take addiction seriously, it's definitely real. Sincerely giving you my respects and well-wishes on pushing through the hardest stretch rn and staying strong
Also if you're into literature DFW is amazing in regards of talking about overcoming addiction

Going chronic-free has been a thing rappers do when they become more conscious of their purpose
