babylon shermHey yall, sherm dropping by cuz I was thinking about the scene and I had some questions for the fans of this music cuz I was getting srsly curious - this is all meant in good faith, I’m gonna use the term hyperpop but I apologize if you feel that doesn’t represent the music ITT
How many of you are familiar with the label PC Music?
Were you familiar with PC Music at the time they debuted in 2013? If not, when did you become aware of them?
Do you feel hyperpop has any similarities to their music or the music they inspired at the time or after?
Have any hyperpop artists expressed a fondness for PC Music or its artists besides Sophie?
I ask because I find it endlessly interesting that millenials basically tried hyperpop and failed but zoomers have created a burgeoning community in almost no time
I found out about PC music in 2016 once Charli took A.G. Cook hostage in her basement. Some of them def have a lot of inspiration from what PC music did, petal supply and shyburial in particular. They deserve a lot of credit for making what’s happening now possible, but only for a portion. Glaive and Quinn fw Charli, and she’s aware of the scene (follows Quinn n is taking Daine under her wing). Other than that, idk, Petal fw Tielsie n they follow each other on SoundCloud (pretty odd considering the latter has gone ghost for 7 years).
