treemanThis franchise introduced a lot of people to skateboarding in a similar way that the tony hawk franchise did for me. Skate 1 has so much soul and the grit in its art style is incredible. The spots, the story, the character interactions/missions made 1-3 special and unique with each entry.
This game is a slap in the face. A cartoony free to play sandbox game with s*** spots, no pros, no soul, floaty & unrealistic gravity and a huge focus on f***in parkour
I hope they have a hardcore mode and add some actual real life skate spots, this is a terrible representation of where skateboarding is right now and I highly doubt it’ll do a fraction of what the original games did for the skateboard industry
yeah for me the most telling this is that they dont seem to care about involving people from the culture. Even Skate 3 which I think strayed a bit from the core, still had a lot of pros featured in the game. In this one you get missions from a talking AI bot and flanderized forza horizon-esque characters

And I wonder if they'll change the style because this is most ppls first sight of it/reaction to it. Weren't the initial "playtest monthly highlights" videos of normal humans, not animated? Maybe it was just hard to tell

skate 3 was also very different to 1&2 visually, but it still had enough of the og skate character that made the series so unique. this one just doesn‘t. at all.
but i‘ve come to accept that this is called “skate.“ and not “skate 4“ for a reason.
if this helps EA believe in the skate franchise again maybe we will get a real skate 4 at some point. one can only hope.

i never trust them with anything
making this free to play was a dumbfuck idea
and the fact that this game has been out in this f***ed up state for however long is laughable
but idk what i expected from these crack smoking degenerates
who are too f***ed to actually develop the game
because they want to make sure that they are able to spend more money on smoking crack
one day i will wake up and i will KILL myself and they will be partly responsible
but they will be fully responsible
i will make sure these people get locked up
i will make sure their face is next to sandusky in the prison cell
when the prison paparazzi comes in for a photo op
which will be posted on every magazine for the world stage to see and point and laugh at

thing is tho the online only s*** is gonna be so annoying even if the gameplay is good

crazy how to this day i never got into a playtest/beta
i wish they viewed my skate 3 stats and gave me a code for that alone smh
it‘s literally been 10+ years since i‘ve last played a skate game man i can‘t believe it
this could be the worst game of all time and i‘ll still be able to have fun with it, just cause i love this series so damn much
i‘ll see you in the city soon
