I have the screenwriting thread
There is a thread on here for aspiring filmmakers tho

neither do I but I can think of 50 other films I'd put before a QT film

taratino scripts are some of the best ever seen

I need to get back to writing but been so busy with holidays

i cannot write a clean script without putting camera shots in there because of how much I think in images, and dialogue is usually sparse for me
what I wanted to ask in the filmmaking thread was if someone has licensed sync rights for music from a big label and how long that process took
Can't believe you didn't include The D***son Experimental Sound Film AKA The Gay Brothers
I have to say, hopefully they release an expanded version of 250 like other times because limiting it to 100 is just dumb. There are too many great films that were omitted

Nothing wrong with putting camera shots and all that in the script, especially if you have desires to direct it. Screenwriting teachers always try and preach about that s*** being a “no no” and “the rules” but it’s all non sense

i'll never take a screenwriting class ever nor follow rules per se, but the fact that I can't write a clean script (essentially just writing a shooting script directly) bothers me

It shouldn’t. It’s actually a good thing that you can visualize what you’re writing. Do you wanna direct also?

I’d never advise someone to take a class or NOT take a class or go to school, being everyone’s path is different. But I will say from my experience is teachers definitely try and compromise your creativity in order to follow their “rules”…which does more harm than good.
I like screwball comedies.

i wanted to go to film school for directing since it's free here but out of 250, 6 got admitted and I only made it to 40 of the interviewed after making a short. they only admit every other year and i dont have time for that, so f*** em
i was never interested in attending the school for fun or creativity, only their resources and money. 3 years of studying costs the state more than training a fighter pilot, plus you get money, grants and stipends after graduating to realize projects

If you plan to direct your scripts that will actually work to your advantage. You’d probably make for a good director if you think in that way (doesn’t mean you can’t also write of course)
As for your question that’s tough cause it’s an industry question. I know there are agencies that help with getting music licensed for films but idk how long the process is. I’m sure it varies depending on song and artist
I don’t have personal experience with that and filmmaking community isn’t too active on here it might be a better question for reddit
I took one course in short film writing and plan to take a course in full length film writing but it’s just to help me understand structure
