Kanye literally doing cyhi verse word for word on kmsa it even cuts to cyhi at some parts lmao
That’s not even cyhi lmao
Not entirely. I think he should work on the craft of actually rapping again though. There are countless anecdotes of Ye actually rapping, participating in cyphers for hours at a time etc.
We’ll probably never know the extent of how much ghost written verses were there from like CD to WTT. But I’d like to think he’s responsible for at least 70%-75% of his verses from that period in time.
The more known it was that Ye uses writers the worse his verses became imo.
As far as reference track, Ye usually gets help with his flow, and cadence. That’s mostly what they’re for.

I can tell now when Ye does the verse himself.
listen to saint Pablo, nmpila, og hurricane.
ye can rap his ass off but his cadence and flow be all over the place
That’s not even cyhi lmao
bro read the replies before this post we already went through dat lil bro
Did anyone help Kanye write his verse for hurricane? It sounds like something only he could write
Y’all give way too much power to liner notes and names
Every time Kanye puts a team together, their solo outputs never sound like the album they worked on nor does it match the quality , and you continue to doubt the Midas touch

Yea idk the exact change, maybe around TLOP his natural flow just got f***ed up like he forgot how to rap. Writers block I guess.
Also I remember even back in the day when there was talk of Ye getting help on his verses, it was never entire 16s written for him. It was just a couple lines here n there to tighten everything up. Once he started allowing people to write entire 16s, and whole songs, I think that was a jumping the shark moment. But he’s said he’s been dealing with writers block, so
I remember the first time I heard about him using writers I wanna say it was for 808s, on 106 & Park iirc it was one girl I wish I remembered her name, she had a song out at the time as well. But he had her help with the song writing, and melodic stuff.
I feel his spirit in these verses you cant convince me he didn't write them
I was sure that Kanye wrote "It's hard to be an angel when you are surrounded by demons..."
But well that wasn't true

Yeah, I've watched some fan documentary about 808s and some dude said that Ye dropped him a recording of him mumbling and said that they need to find words in that.
808s has real songs, I mean not rap songs, so I guess I can give Ye a pass on this one.

Heres the interview i was referencing.
For the record I write all my own s*** and believe that is what a true MC should do.

This is were he talks about hip hop competing with other genres who have a slew of writers.
Pce, got work to do!
Maybe it's not even from that interview but I remember CyHi sad something that for me sounds like bullshit.
He said that they are now at the Grammies competing with a lot of genres for an album of the year award, and that's why they have to use the same tactics that Adele and Beyonce use. For me that argument doesn't sit right as it automatically makes all the music that they make less personal, it's not about what Ye feels etc. It's about can we win over Adele.
No less than Brian Wilson eventually worked with lyricists. He would explain what he was feeling or thinking, and Tony Asher and Van Dyke Parks would put the ideas into poetry. It doesn't make the music or the emotions or ideas any less pure or any less his. Kanye's greatest strengths beyond his vision, drive and ambition have always been his high taste and great ear, which are curatorial powers. He knows how best to get to the outcome he envisions.
When Drake was exposed for not writing some tracks on IYRTITL, people were sad, I wasn't hearing that Quentin was coming up with flows etc.
Now, everyday some new reference tor Ye emerges, and people are not sad, but some even excited because they know some dude from completely another genre who did the same thing.

Who is it then? AI drake?
The only one that ever bothered me was Violent Crimes bc that song is so personal and it would mean more if he wrote it.
Who is it then? AI drake?
Idk but I know for a fact it wasn’t Kanye. Probably Cyhi
