a lot of artist do it without paying and end up getting sued so ..
Because of a broken copyright system
Interpolation is more theft than sampling, sampling is an art form by itself
Idk why you’d make this post if you’re on ktt. Like how’d you find out about this site if you’re a person who thinks this?
Asap tried to be psychedelic and it was corny
I don't necessarily mean spacey, this one of the more "psychedelic" beats I've heard in ages

also to be fair a lot of popular newer rap songs literally copy and paste the melody and put 808 and trap drums on top, sometimes its fire, sometimes its just like... ehh
yup, thats lazy sampling
the sad part is the producers that do that get hailed as geniuses when in reality it takes little to no talent to add drums and hi hats to a sample
Intellectual property limits innovation.
This and not only in music
yeah but your initial point was 'sampling is stealing' period. i think you'll be hard pressed to find anyone that advocates for not crediting and giving the original sound's creator their due, because when you do that then it does become stealing.
Yeah i just see too many people being mad when someone sue a rapper for sampling a song.

Making good drum patterns I believe is a skill but it shouldn't make you this absolute genius in the eyes of everyone especially when 6 other people got credits on the production

Sometimes. The thing about psychedelic music is that the breadth of sounds is endless, the whole point was to come up with something new and bonkers every time.

I guess that make you a dumbass too for participating in it.
I think you can legally sample anything over 50 years old and that means everything from the 60s is up for grabs
where is the psychedelic hip hop wave I've been waiting for
I think this is a myth, unless someone can hit me with a source which I would welcome
