Wtffff
Like Swae said when asked about Sicko Mode video, there’ll be a next time
Lol only if it's the Safdie's, nothing like them at A24 rn
fr but then again it’s not really a very casual friendly movie tbh so I could see their reasoning
For the most part, none of them are. But when films like Lighthouse and Midsommar gets WV releases is where I start to question their reasoning. But s***, maybe that Netflix bag was just too good to deny lmao

Wait Lighthouse is them too
Oh, baby you's sleeping. The f***

Holy s*** I’ve seen more A24 movies that I knew of
And they all good
Holy s*** I’ve seen more A24 movies that I knew of
And they all good
They got the top 2 movies of the year

Lmaoooo, that's what I thought. I've seen you going about how you're not very familiar with their catalogue I just knew that wasn't the case. They got some s***, some niggas like to front tho
Hope so. They fumbled it imo, it could've with ease done some serious numbers. I mean a crime/drama from A24 with Sandler in the lead? C'mon now, A24 have never felt this "big" and "action packed". They wild for this one
They didn't fumble it at all b Adams movies outside of his comedies always flop.
The fact this is doing the number it is is a win at all I think this is the first time in Adams career people went to see him in something different.
That's the irony of his career people b**** about his usual stuff but that always does insane numbers meanwhile his outside projects all bomb.
Even Punch Drunk Love underperformed so this is a win.

Good thing is that despite the audience reception, this movie literally did record numbers for A24, so Adam and Safdies already won. I hope he lands some oscar love but it probably won’t happen.

He deserves it Im glad Adam finally getting recognition and success off this.
He really is good it just seems like every film he does outside of his usual stuff gets derailed lile he's cursed.
Last one was "Meyerowitz Stories" and he had Oscar buzz but the film campaign died when Hoffman got Me'Too'd

Sandler deserved not only a nom but a win for Punch Drunk Love
And he’s definitely Oscar worthy here. I still think PDL is his best work but this is 2nd for sure
I’d say he deserve a nom but Joaquin and Driver were prob still the best performances oty from Hollywood

Missed my point, nevermind

Was your point not that they fumbled the bag?

I’m crossing fingers but I feel it’s not big Hollywood enough to be winning

Rather the films they choose to set open for worldwide releases, when this so clearly would reach a much broader audience than anything released under their umbrella thus far. Either way, looked it up and Netflix had already acquired its international rights while in production so it is what it is but point still stands, a fast paced crime/drama, N.Y. diamonds district gangster flick would do much better in Theater than say a Lighthouse or Hereditary

That’s a good point king, maybe they pushed Lighthouse because of the cast?

It’s definitely a huge win for the Safdies
Like they clearly on the up&up and will probably get bigger projects

Oh yeah for sure, I’m keeping a close eye and will look at their back catalogue before the next thing drop

Most definitely not lol, they don't sell tickets like that plus it's a black-and-white arthouse drama.... taking place in 19th century lmao. Netflix' probably just so tight up with their original films during award season, that would be my guess
