Really liking this, just need to let it simmer for a bit and I think it'll grow on me even more
Reliquia, Novia Robot and Dios Es Un Stalkre are my favs so far
she disagrees
https://twitter.com/p_stolf/status/1983855637927772226Also I heavily disagree with her about this album being as poppy as motomami tbh
Like Reliquia is as “poppy” as it got to me. Thought it was really cool to make a pop song sound like that but pop also has to do with a certain ear worm factor that Lux didn’t have off my first listen. Something that, to speak on her example, Kate Bush does have. Granted I need to spin more but I think she’s kinda tripping
The album is still great and an extreme artistic statement and I get what she means but that’s not what I got out of it
Feel like i should be wearing a tuxedo listening to this fam she going stupid on these vocals lol
Lowkey even calling her a popstar atp feels wrong she's something else entirely
I definitely feel this but I respect her take on it in that interview
Bending and merging with a perceived boundary as opposed to breaking it is something I think about often
As someone said a few pages back artistry is the universal language
Mio Cristo Piange Diamanti...
That transition into Berghain had me hitting the Big Quint
WHOA AT THE MINUTE MARK OF MAGNOLIAS ACTUALLY GAVE A NIGGA CHILLS BRO WHO IS THIS B****?
first impression is great
gonna take lot more listens to wrap my head around
I know there ain't no way she bringing an orchestra on tour. Maybe select shows but...
La Perla...the most beautiful character assassination lol
This had me in tears. I was not expecting it to sound like that

i think in that snippet when she says pop shes referring its original meaning of "popular". I think shes arguing (rightfully so to an extent) that Bjork and Kate Bush both had hits and sold well and were relatively mainstream without compromising their art too much. In this way, they expanded what pop music can mean. That music doesnt have to sound a certain way for it to be huge or chart high.
To me it sounds like shes hoping LUX can reach the same amount of people and become as played/popular as Motomami or other pop music does
