I think the gore situation will be really interesting, RDR2-level detail combined with modern automatic weaponry would legitimately be unpalatable IMO and I wouldn't be surprised if they scale it back

Red Dead has always been more gorey than GTA. GTA has actually never had gore, but like for example if you pop someone in the head with that big ass revolver it should hit different than a 9mm

    Don't forget the sickles!

I never actually played RDR1, did it have similar stuff going on to 2 that GTA V didn't have?

i still cant believe how massive the gta 6 and wolverine leaks were. tlou 2 was huge too but that was just 2 months before release. gta 6 and wolverine were literally YEARS before which is insane.

RDR1 always looked weirdly stiff to me idk but I hear people say it's incredible

Ehh, not really. Kinda feels like a more advanced/better looking GTA 4

Oh, if we're talking gore, then yeah. RDR1 has some of that. The dead eye too

Yes, RD1 had a similar feel to RD2 without the fancy gore. It felt more violent and each gunshot felt like you were doing some real damage. GTA V just felt like you were looking onto someone and spraying them down.

    Preorder with no gameplay

Imagine no gameplay is ever shown and then when you play it you find out they went back to GTA 2 gameplay

Oh I see what you mean, that's definitely something I like about RDR2, plus the sound design is just insane

    The 2D overhead POV twist

  • I could make a mf dance with that Glock on GTA IV physics

  • I'd play more GTA IV if it didn't send my PC to Mars even with optimisation mods

I think some of us are thinking/hoping RDR2 doesn't have too much of an impact on GTA's design. Like the user a few posts above me is talking about the weapon inventories and he wants it to work like RDR2, I'd rather they not adopt some of that realism in GTA. I don't want to be limited to carrying one or two weapons on Jason/Lucia and how will it work if there's no horses? Idc if it's not realistic and they whip a rocket launcher out of nowhere

Car trunk. It can absolutely be plenty satisfying if they really amp up weapon feel.

    Think Max Payne 3.

all imma say is that i hope the gameplay isnt as clunky as RDR2. rockstar's engine is peak but they really gotta work on the smoothness of their gunplay and movement mechanics.

  • I think we all remember our first time playing GTA V

  • V felt amazingly modern at the time and now it feels like a perfect time capsule of the Obama 2 era, man I wish I worked at a Google office where you could just sit on a beanbag all day

  • Those GTA IV physics made me a sicko, I would pop one of those fat cops in the stomach, and then the leg, and then excute him with a headshot as he’d limp away

I'm not a big IV over V guy, but the downgrade in NPC reactivity in V is insane

    💯%.

Maybe they had to sacrifice NPC behavior for the much larger map to work with the technological limits of the era!

THIS TING GONNA BE THE PERFECT ONE

I like GTA V but basically none of the comedy is any good, it feels like the result of writers on crunch forced to make every line 'funny'

  • Some of the websites in V are funny I'll give em that but who actually looks at those

I hate to say it. It’s unarguably an all time classic. But the story was lacking. No real villains, no real character arcs. But very fun, and classic!
