See people pointing out GTA V being kinda mid, and while I do think it’s fairly overrated and isn’t exactly one of the greatest games ever made, are people just conveniently forgetting about RDR2 and the influence that it’ll inevitably have on the game’s design and systems?

Solid, I'd wait for discounts for sure though. If the gameplay hits for you, there's quite a bit of replayability with different challenges.

Yeah, I agree. I don’t think it’s something to be worried about much at the same time though. I know that the influence from GTA online will be strong and that’s kind of what worries me in terms of the driving primarily.

But so far with the way weapon inventories work in the game, I have faith it’ll be closer to RDR2. Not really worried tbh myself

It does get exhausting at times, yes.

I think the gore situation will be really interesting, RDR2-level detail combined with modern automatic weaponry would legitimately be unpalatable IMO and I wouldn't be surprised if they scale it back

I think some of us are thinking/hoping RDR2 doesn't have too much of an impact on GTA's design. Like the user a few posts above me is talking about the weapon inventories and he wants it to work like RDR2, I'd rather they not adopt some of that realism in GTA. I don't want to be limited to carrying one or two weapons on Jason/Lucia and how will it work if there's no horses? Idc if it's not realistic and they whip a rocket launcher out of nowhere
