I'm not tearing down the old trilogy, I'm just saying how that had its flaws as well as these new ones. Part of the reason Star Wars was so remarkable because it revolutionized sound and effects when it was released, so the public was blown away. Many original Star Wars fans will tell you about the first time they went to a theater and heard a ship hyper speed in. That nostalgia disguised some of the movies flaws. Nowadays, were so used to crazy ass CGI that it doesn't impress us the same way. Like the water planet scene was visually stunning but we not leaving the theater fixated on how good the visuals were, instead we're focused on one hiss from a vision of Sith Rey lmao

Finn’s arc in TLJ was to learn about the injustices of capitalism and how shady the war business is, how corrupt it can get. He really only cared about Rey’s safety, his arc was to care more for the resistance as a whole. Because in TFA he still never really cared for the resistance’s safety, he was trying to save Rey from the first order.

His arc in this however...... idk

the whole 3rd act is trash 1st and 2nd have some good things going for it the whole 3rd act feels like a bad disney movie
