ANTIHe was an integral part of the rebellion when it was in its infant stages which of course later went on to defeat her grandfather. Obviously he still is very random and the only reason why he's in it is fan service but he has more reason to be there than someone like Qui-Gon.
How? Qui Gon found Anakin and started this whole s***. And he was the first guy to do the whole Ghost thing and taught it to Yoda and Obi Wan lmao

Lmao I made a post later saying I forgot he discovered Anakin. And while of course that's huge, he dies decades before they even start thinking about a rebellion. His presence in the overall story is so tiny after Episode 1 and non-existent after the prequels.
