Y’all think they’ll retcon this trilogy in the future?

As did TLJ to TFA. Skip over set ups. These last two films derailed the new trilogy, it's nothing new. All a mess

The new ones you cant only use the original ones in this comparison imo if we gonna compare to Disney expanding Star Wars.

When that day comes, the fandom will celebrate

7 to 8 isnt what i expected after the ending of 7 and possibly not the best continuation but its one that at least feels sort of normal

this goes out of its way to write off 8 in the dumbest ways possible

You’re speaking towards a separate argument. I chose Harry Potter as an example of a franchise in recent memory that was able to create a cohesive story within a vast framework that people of all ages can enjoy. I’m playing devils advocate here and arguing against the idea that part of the reason the vast majority don’t enjoy these new films is because they’re too old too by pointing out examples of films made within this past decade that fall within that same framework that have been able to garner success, despite arguably being more suited for the minds of children, from all ages.

Ok then then to respond to that I'll say Harry Potter had actual sourve material and a path to follow so it isn't fair.

Its easy to have a cohesive story when its already written out and sold millions and s***.

Also why I used the newer Harry Potter films for comparison is because they fit in terms of showing jow hard it is to crrate a franchise without that laid out story.

I think it’s fair because what you just said I think speaks more towards Disney, Kathleen, and their poor execution because if there’s one thing Star Wars has, it’s source material and plenty of it. What is clear to me is that they took a more “wing it” approach for lack of a better word and they ended up shooting themselves in the foot because of it.

If I had known nothing about this movie or Star Wars at all prior to seeing this but knew who Michael Bay was and you told me this was a Michael Bay movie I'd be like "ok yeah that definitely makes sense"

I made so many easy reads in on this trilogy since TFA released

Kylo turning to the light for a redemption arc.
