so are you against immigration?
Let's get this straight. Israel invading Palestinian land is not any kind of "immigration" it's an illegal occupation. Come on fam
so Palestinians were on the land before Israel and Israel pushed them out after WW2?
Actually I just googled and I guess it was WW1 (Balfour Declaration). So the international community just decided this land was Israel's?
Yes lmao
But I think the issue now has to do with the borders of 1967. There was a 6 day war, where israel won and expanded their boarders.
yes i should feel sorry for palestinians who let hamas use them to destroy israel instead of taking the money they spend on rockets and bombs and help their own people
This is the same argument white people use about BLM. "If Black Lives Matter why do black people kill black people?!?!?!?!?!"
F***ing moron.
yes i should feel sorry for palestinians who let hamas use them to destroy israel instead of taking the money they spend on rockets and bombs and help their own people
i hope you have the absolute s***tiest rest of your life
but then where would the Israelis go? anyway I guess people much smarter than we are have been unable to find a solution
they go back to where they came from (Europe) or to wherever they expect the Palestinians to go
but then where would the Israelis go? anyway I guess people much smarter than we are have been unable to find a solution
no one is actively working towards a solution that isn't the complete destruction of the palestinian people. that is what the "much smarter" people are doing.
This thread moved on from Rihanna after a few pages, it's not rage p*** but really an interesting discussion about the situation even though unfortunately it showed there's a lot of pro genocidal people on this website. Kind of sad to see honestly, I can't believe this many people defend Israel
Also that picture is the perfect representation to your post, it's only hypocrisy if you see in black and white but ignore the grey
As all internet discussions go, most people are planted firmly on their side and no amount of conversation will make them budge.
Im guilty of falling into the trap myself.
As far as the pic goes, as I have previously said I think the root of the outrage is not so much the attrocities against humanities but rather how much people just genuinely enjoying having something to be upset and rally around.
It’d be one thing if we had a calm discussion on how the economy forces most people to not have the ability to ethically discern between products, etc but when it jumps right into protective hostility I have to assume I struck a nerve.
why was it the UK's land to give? I presume they used force to move the Palestinians out? also when does Hamas shoot rockets? Just whenever they want? Anyway it seems very complex. But I understand America is aligned with Israel, and there are lots of Jewish people who have power in the music / entertainment business, so that is gonna shade what stars say
UK had no right to give the land away. They’re the literal reason why this all has transpired, but Israel is complicit for obvious reasons
i hope you have the absolute s***tiest rest of your life
You wouldn’t talk like this in real life, why on the internet? It doesn’t help your point or convey your message effectively.
Do better
i think the people mad about this statement are so heated about it because Rihanna has a platform with nearly 100 million followers where she refused to condemn a genocide & “both sides”d the situation
She did condemn it and expressed empathy for the innocents on both sides, I don't entirely agree with her statement either and don't even like her as a person but acting like she said something outrageous because she didn't say exactly what you wanted her to say is just weird to me.
genuinely curious. can someone please explain to me why this is a bad statement? Twitter / Reddit / IG is where I expect to see the most dumbed down version of any story, and usually the simplistic version of a political argument that's told on there is the version that doesn't actually fly in the real world
for example, Twitter / Reddit is where things like Bernie Sanders, "defund the police," and Elizabeth Warren were popular, but those things are very unpopular (nationally) in the real world. "Free Palestine" feels that same way
It's my (very basic) understanding that Hamas shoots rockets at Israel, and Hamas shoots these rockets from places where Palestinian civilians reside. So when Israel shoots back, they hit Palestinian civilians. I don't understand the history that much apart from knowing that Israel was founded after WW2 because Jews wanted a home nation to be able to defend Jews worldwide so there'd never be another Holocaust
Others already explain the conflict but in regards to why riri statement is bad, here's an a***ogy.
Imagine u see two houses on a street, House A and House B. House B is completely engulfed in flames and House A barely has any scratches. Why would you be so worry about House A when House B is completely on fire.
To add even more details to this. House B is only on fire because the people in House A set it on fire in order to evict the people out of House B and take the land. So her both siding this s*** is BS

This is one of the few issues where being on the side of anyone but Palestine quite literally is the wrong side. I mean this is the Holocaust happening before your very eyes and you telling people they should be open to discussing both sides and search for an amicable solution lol

You're free to come find out

there are no innocent Israelis, just like there are no innocent Nazis

Using the most emotionally inflammatory language is an option, sure.
but given the past century we know that Israel is not going anywhere, and Palestine is (ideally) not going anywhere.
Why not try to work within the confines of reality to establish a solution that works for both?
She has a huge platform and is getting major backlash for this statement so what are you trying to say? Oh yeah, nothing
No ones pressed about her getting backlash. She deserves it. They're upset because she used her large platform to "both sides" the issue.
I'm not attacking you either. You just said some vague "if you have an issue with what she said, look deep within yourself" comment. Even now all you did was put up a strawman instead of saying how you really feel. But no worries.
there are no innocent Israelis, just like there are no innocent Nazis
yeah those 5 year old israelis really some evil mfers, shut the f*** up bro dont quote me again lmao
idk about you, but i tend to like knowing whether someone i support & give my money to would condemn a clear-cut genocide. but if you’re fine with spending your paychecks to line the pockets of genocide apologists, that’s your choice.
I can almost guarantee that you and the majority of people in this thread buy s*** made in China by Uighur child slaves who’s parents have been killed and taken for organ harvesting and don’t think twice about it. Then talk about wanting to know what your money is supporting. Rihanna’s post is less “in support of genocide” than most of this threads purchases.
You sound like a boot licker, let’s be honest, if their filth of parents never put them in this situation maybe I would be more sympathetic
now you sound like the people who excuse kids in cages because their parents "made the choice to come here the wrong way"

It's emotionally inflammatory to call it what it is?
If Israel doesn't go anywhere then Palestine is going to be burned to the f***ing ground. Do you not understand that? Officials in Israel have already said as much. Either the world stops Israel or Palestine is done. There is no f***ing solution that works for both. ISRAEL WILL NOT STOP UNTIL THEY ARE FORCED TO OR PALESTINE IS DESTROYED. IT'S NOT COMPLICATED.
Lmao indeed, that was bad taste as an a***ogy. And yes English is my third language. What I wanted to illustrate was was that someone less powerful than you wants to murder you. And you had to be under the same roof.
The problem with that a***ogy is that they don't have to "live under the same roof". Israel could just stop trying to take over Palestinian land and accept Palestine offer to split up (they want to be independent and free) and go back to the agreed 1967 borders but Israel is being greedy, they don't want peace they want all of Palestine.
now you sound like the people who excuse kids in cages because their parents "made the choice to come here the wrong way"
you’re equating immigration to colonialism

I disagree, and like I said before. this is one of those situations where you’re so entrenched in your position (strongest language possible, even broke out the caps lock) that it doesn’t do us any good to discuss it any further.
Cheers and hope you have a good day
