Crazy thing is this wait is nothing compared to how it was back in the day.

Re3 dropped in 1999 and 4 in 2005. Then 5 in 2009. We used to have to wait 4 years regularly. 76 and 7 had a five year gap too. Then seems like once the remakes started dropping we started getting them every other year and the quality increased

They had Code Veronica, 0, both Outbreaks etc.

Screw that I don't care about it being scary (how dumb that sounds for a horror game ) I like the 3rd person as it just feels more cinematic to see my character. Plus it can definitely still be scary in 3rd person

If they wanna do first person they need to stop being lazy and let players have a choice. Goes for all games. If that means designing the game from the ground up so it works with both views then so be it. Jmo but I feel like it's time most games start giving players a choice. Re4 started a perfect formula and it should have never deviated from that. The remakes further proved that too.

I can’t lie I’d be kinda disappointed if 9 isn’t first person. Playing RE in first person is such a scary and immersive experience

I’m okay with Leon’s games being 3rd person and others being first if that’s the direction they want to go. I want there to be games set in both perspectives with each having different focuses.

Wonder what’s meant by “reinvention” and not playing like any other RE. Feel like it would be a waste to not continue on the RE4Remake gameplay.

I’ll gladly take either. Like you said, the first person was goat. Those games utilised the perspective SO well, and really blew the roof off of figuring out so many ways to apply RE stuff to that style of gameplay. For neatness I would love a 1st person trilogy to be complete

But equally, I think the RE4 remake mechanics and gameplay are some of the best ever. If they just take that template and build RE9 from there, I would be like

Thought 3rd person was a no brainer after the reception to those.

Resident Evil 2 and 4 remakes are absolutely incredible. And I’ve loved RE games since the 2000s .
I’m not saying I don’t love the 3rd person games

But RE7 is quite easily the scariest RE game of all time. And one of the big reasons it’s the scariest is because it’s 1st person .

I want Capcom to continue releasing 1st person RE games, but I also don’t want them to abandon the 3rd person games either
