I tried Xbox and ps5 on pc. Dual sense feels better on ps5 but still does some on pc . Also mods for multiple play throughs

Wish I had a pc for randomizers and s*** like that tbh

I will be aiming and shooting the same 3 enemies and then hear something come behind me and I’m like Tf do I turn around

That was part of the fear , tension and survival horror for some . I understand how design wise it works for some and not others . Same way I feel about headshots in the game . It takes getting used to especially after playing all the games since or in your case never playing original . Demo kind of reacclimatized me to it

However if you are on Xbox to be clear I am hearing control sometimes feels unresponsive saw digital foundry mention that

Why not? It tries to give you the illusion of play style freedom with a s*** stealth mechanic. It’s literally a corridor shooter. Does nothing particular well from a gameplay / AI perspective.

    RE2 remake was far better

Like atleast we RE8 they had different scenarios that changed up the mechanics.

RE2 remake was good cos it had the right amount of horror and tension. It wasn’t throwing 30 brainless AI at you consistently and Mr X added a lot of tension. This game is just mindless shooting - progress - mindless shooting again. It’s boring

The boss battles were the main thing that broke up that loop but for some it clicks and others not . You don’t have to feel bad about not liking it or it not working for you . I feel that’s why they dropped the demo so people could get a feel of it was for them . There are those that played the demo many times and others who played once and weee just chill on it .

I’ve never played re2 but based on mr x descriptions and what I’m hearing I could understand someone liking it better

The atmosphere and sound design is so good here though. Makes wanna push through to see what else the game offers (hoping it does)

Warra reply. Clearly you have nothing to come back with lol

I’m literally talking about the mechanics of the game not some hypothetical mechanic. There is a half assed stealth system no?

Stealth was added for remake . The entire game being a stealth game even with the best designers in world would be difficult. A lot of its levels and mechanics are only so much made for sneaking

That’s my point. The stealth offers an illusion of “freedom” in the gameplay loop. I understand it’s hard to literally remake the games areas but I feel like the game wants you to stealth whilst making braindead AI, terrible pathing etc

I get you it’s just not last of us and if they changed that much they would feel like they were trying to be it rather than be themselves

Some are still experiencing this and others aren't appears however it was in the demo its the same for many. Digital foundry said the same. That is kind of why I tried to ask earlier

    don't start a war here

RE4 fans love the game and have played it. Perception of it for someone who has never played it will just feel different. Some of it will feel dated to you . RE4 laid the groundwork for Gears of War, Last of Us and many games overall. So its understandable that people cherish how special it was and still is in some ways

Resident Evil 4 garnered acclaim for its story, gameplay, graphics, voice acting, and characters, and is often named one of the best video games, winning multiple Game of the Year awards in 2005. It was ported to numerous formats, and became a cross-platform hit, selling more than 11 million copies. It influenced the evolution of the survival horror and third-person genres, popularizing the "over-the-shoulder" third-person view used in games such as Dead Space and The Last of Us.
