Throwback to the 2005 MTV VMAs in Miami. A HISTORIC moment for the genre and for latinos everywhere as Don Omar, Tego Calderon and Daddy Yankee performed in front of all the US celebs and showed the US audience the power....del reggaeton latino

AOTD:
Wisin-El Sobreviviente(2004)
-Hits: La Gitana, Saoco, En Busca De Un Caldo, No Se, Saquen Los Full
-Features: Daddy Yankee, Tony Dize, Alexis & Fido, Gallego
-Less than a year after Yandel dropped his solo album, Wisin dropped his. On this album he proved he's a force to be reckoned with, even as a solo artist. A young Tony Dize belts out some classic hooks, Wisin disses Hector and Don Omar, and Daddy Yankee comes through with a feature on the classic hit "Saoco." Yellow G-strings became in style after this album. IYKYK

AOTD:
De La Ghetto-Masacre Musical(2008)
-Hits: Gangsta, Tu Te Imaginas, Momento Que Te Vi, Es Dificil, Se Te Nota, Booty
-Features: Mavado, Randy, Guelo Star, Teddy Riley
-Debut solo album for De La Geezy. Received mixed reaction at the time because the album lacks straight up perreo and instead focuses more on pop and R&B sounds. That said, I really enjoy this album and a handful of songs are 10/10. Another one of the best voices in the genre.
AOTD:
DJ Playero-Playero 37(1992)(!!)
-Hits from Daddy Yankee, OG Black, Master Joe & more
-DJ Playero is considered the pioneer of the genre. Starting in 1991 he produced a series of mixtapes mixing Jamaican dancehall and hip hop beats with Spanish language rap over them. Eventually that led to the creation of the reggaeton genre. The PR government banned these mixtapes for their explicit lyrics.
-A lot of the important figures of the genre got their start with him. Daddy Yankee, for example, got his debut on one of his mixtapes--Playero 34, in 1991.
-This album/tape came out in 1992 and was spread around the island via cassette tapes, becoming a very influential project in the genres history.
New DY+Z+L song. Very commercial

Also new Jhay Cortez ft De La Ghetto, Darell & Eladio trap

Anuel also dropped the "Reggaetonera" video

AOTD:
Tito "El Bambino"-Top Of The Line(2006)
-Hits: Caile, Chica Revelde, Mia, Secreto, Maximo, Tu Cintura, Flow Natural
-Features: Mr. Phillips, Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Beannie Man, Ines
-Tito's debut album as a solo artists, after splitting up with Hector. Both DY and Don are featured, Tainy and Luny Tunes produce. Tito went all out for this one and it was a hit.
AOTD:
Residente Calle 13-Calle 13(2005)
-Hits: Se Vale To-To, Atrevete-te-te, Vamo Animal, Electrico
-Features: Voltio, PG-13, Severo Canta Claro, Tuna Bardos
-Rene's debut album. His most "reggaeton" centric album with the massive hit Atrevete-te-te. After this album he would somewhat turn his back on the genre and become more experimental, all the while dissing the genre for its primitive subject matter. Some cool sounds. Never been a huge Rene fan but there are a handful of his songs that work
On an IG video yesterday Anuel said his album is #1 itw and that Bad Bunny and his crew manipulate the numbers

I only listened to his album because of Bad Bunny features lol
AOTD:
Hector "El Bambino" & Naldo Present: Sangre Nueva(2005)
-Hits from: Yomo, Arcangel & De La Ghetto, Franco "El Gorila", Hector, Wisin & Yandel, Don Omar, Zion & more
-This album was meant to showcase the new talent coming into the genre. The OG's introducing some of the "new blood". This was the breakout album for stars such as Arcangel, De La Ghetto, Franco and Yomo.
-The big stars set the tone with a classic intro; "Sacala".
AOTD:
Lito y Polaco-Mundo Frio(2002)![]()
-Hits: Rosando Tu Piel, Mundo Frio, Eddie Kaneca, Esta Noche Quiero Darte, Mirate Al Espejo & more
-Features: Nicky Jam, Voltio, Speedy, MC Ceja, Eddie Dee, Daddy Yankee, Wise
-One of the first duos to truly explode in the genre. These guys are one of the best duos ever. Lyrically, probably #1. Hip hop flow with some incredible punchlines. Dissing Tempo throughout the album. Both were savages on the mic.
-The title track is one of the best latin rap songs OAT and the song and video have a GOT like twist at the end lol Will post it below
