If you read the initial message, I said that it's pretty hard to get there when Rap Media/The Industry/The Internet are in shambles. It takes longer now..and some of the people that were getting really close died in towards the end of the last decade..that was a BIG setback. Pop Smoke, X, Juice Wrld, Lil Peep. They wouldve been critical pieces in how rap wouldve have matured in alternative spaces.

Kanye Drake Jay etc..all were able to benefit from those things (media, radio, tv exsposure, authority at the record labels) with a way more concentrated market.

We are in different times. It takes longer. It takes built in communities that are mature and understand and champion rap.

So when people s*** on the underground rappers it makes no sense. They are the ones that will be on those stages and have the best chances of being huge. (Ken Carson, Nine Vicious, Destroy Lonely, Che, etc)

People just want them to be/look like traditional rap artists. That is dead.

and then it's like..Lil Baby, Playboi Carti, NBA YoungBoy, and Lil Uzi exist...do these artists just mean nothing? are these not huge names produced in the last decade?

Do we seriously think there wont be more stars in rap? lol

nah you don’t understand my nigga, since they debuted in 2018 they don’t count as stars in the 2020s!!!!!

God damn some of the conversations around this website can be insufferable once you list to them the plethora of rap stars we have had the pleasure of experiencing in just the last 8 years cause these niggas simply don’t like any rappers outside of the blog era and your Brockhampton type rappers, you are 100% right smdh

You THINK it’s lower effort but that’s simply not true and the portrayal as such is just because you don’t LIKE it

Artists like Ken Carson/Destroy Lonely could get replaced by AI and barely any value would be lost tbh lol, he's not wrong

Even subject matter aside, they're not even trying to put an interesting spin on their flows/delivery/rhyme schemes etc which is a crucial part of rap music
Even production is pretty repetitive and simply not interesting enough to carry full albums of that bs

S*** really is crazy. I got that corny c***blocked and muted on everything, and there are moments I genuinely forget who he is.

Then I come on KTT and get reminded of him and why I just call him a cac.

Another example of the most obnoxious people getting famous just for yappin on camera.

    In the mainstream {or whatever you want to call the type of s*** that makes it to Kurrco and Akademiks consistently/the post mainstream}

dense linear lyricism that continues a thought for more than a bar or two without the majority of the vocals being melodic is absolutely dying and the fact that niggas about to argue with me that rap doesnt have to be that, means rap is already dead. GGs

since this post you've got non-black POCs arguing your very last point to niggas that had parents that grew up when The Message by Grandmaster Flash came out that was directly talking to the d*** affected communities said parents were raised in 💔💔💔

The demographic that don't even study the history of the genre they magically jumped into loving but now wanna tell us what is and aint hip hop 💔💔💔

Trying to portray everyone in a generation as stupid does not correlate to whether the music some of the ppl in said generation make is high effort or not what a dumb argument
