idk about MUCH...at least not yet I'm only like 6 chapters in...but yeah if they threw all this into the film idk if you'd find Cliff as likeable tbh lol he's got the same good qualities as in the film such as being a loyal friend and whatnot but there's a lot more insight into his thought process and it's pretty dark

yo...the chapter where it explains what happened to his wife is insane lmao basically split her in half with that shark gun but then felt bad and tried to "hold her together" for 7 hours until they got back to shore...at which point the medics try to get her on the ambulance and she...falls apart lmao

This version of Cliff woulda never hit the big screen

the insight into Cliff's brain is really the darkest aspect lol he's basically carefree as f*** even when it comes to murder...like he legit feels bad about killing the wife but mentions how it never occurred to him to NOT get away with the murder and basically he reasons it by saying he doesn't NEED to get locked up and can punish himself outside of prison on his own...and that technically it was almost an accident and more like a twitch than a pull of the trigger

Y’all acting like Lee hasn’t been essentially deified by the culture for like 40 years at this point. It’s not a big deal that his image gets a little pushback against the godlike one he’s been given for so long.

tbh just a goofy little scene. I have no problems with it and I’m a huge Bruce fan. It’s for s***s and giggles.

exactly...ppl acting like in a work of fiction you can't create someone equal or tougher than Lee or any other real life fighter is insane lol...if it was a biopic and they did that you could make an argument but I think ppl just reaching for anything they can to get QT the f*** outta here unfortunately...as for the Rogan interview we've known he's a dork who rambles on a bit too much for decades now but ppl still act surprised when he occasionally puts his foot in his mouth during interviews

    Tarantino > Bruce Lee

  • Jul 6, 2021

Tarantino created a fictionalized character and made him whoop Lee’s ass and has the whole industry in shambles

Honestly based as f***ing s***. Should've been included

it's a flashback by a character who's racist and killed his wife.

I mean you say that like it was what the whole movie was about

  • Jul 6, 2021

The more the Bruce Lee s*** keeps coming up the more funny it gets that QT is so unwilling to retreat even an inch that it makes his detractors escalate the tensions even higher

It went from “yeah idk if this is too nuanced of a portrayal” to YEAH WELL HE F***ING HATED STUNT PEOPLE OKAY?! F*** OFF and ”Sir this singlehandedly ruined Stop Asain Hate, take several seats”

  • Reformed

All I know is I respect the balls on Tarantino to challenge the myth making of someone

There’s nothing to respect about an established old white male movie director chalking something
