Atlus been on a 90s square run and they are not stopping
Atlus has been insane but they aint even close to that. Just nature of modern game dev
The amount of classic RPG games and new IP Square put out in the 90s into the early 2000s is absurd
Honestly this ain't even Atlus best run ngl. There was a time when even the side games they put out were heat, now we just get bullshit like Soul Hackers 2 and Persona 5 Strikers

Tbf just this year we got SMT V vengeance, unicorn overlord, p3 reload and now metaphor. Thats insane. And i did say Square specifically to not include Enix as well cause they werent unified yet

Rerelease + expansion (great game)
Good game but was just published by Atlus
Remake
In 1995 ALONE Square put out Trials of Mana, Front Mission, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Evermore, and Romancing SaGa 3. That's just one year brah. If you go back a few months you can include FF6 and Live A Live. Go a few months later and they put out Super Mario RPG. Idk what they had goin on but they were on roids or some s***
Imagine if Atlus put out Persona 6, 7, and 8 in 3 years and all were classics. That's literally what Square did back then lmao
A feast!
Still wrapping up P3R as well
demo out for this too if you wanna try it out first
s*** like 7 hours long
If the biggest criticism of this game is that there are too many mechanics borrowed from Persona then I’ll consider that a W overall
Of course I would’ve preferred something more wholly new and unique but I love many of the persona systems so it’s not like it will bring the games quality down in my eyes
Haven’t played the demo and haven’t been hawking news like crazy so I’m excited to jump in after I cop a TV
Yea the whole song and dance about it being a wholly different IP feels kinda dumb in hindsight but once i accepted it for what it is i f***ing loved it

It rlly is crazy how video game companies used to pump out classics like it was nothing and now it takes like 5 years for a sequel to get made

Its not crazy at all when you compare the scale of those games to what we get now

RGG and Sega are able to pump out these Yakuza games fairly fast.
The key is having different teams on different games.
They did that back in the day too.
Final fantasy 8, 9, and 10 were in development at the exact same time

it would still take companies 5 years to make all the games still brother

RGG reuses a lot of the same assets for the most part

We the consumer would still be getting sequels to franchises faster
reduce insane budgets and stop worry about graphical
reuse assets here and there
Stop worrying about every game being a an extremely cinematic Oscar Bait game.
have team A work on TLOU 2. Have Team B work on TLOU 3 af the same time. Put out out TLOU2. Team A starts working on TLOU4 soon after. Then 2-3 years after TLOU2 put out TLOU3. By then TLOU4 wait will also be 2-3 years away
Problem solved

I would say that's a good thing
demo got me hooked
why is the animation so f***ing good lmao? This is an instant cop, also gonna pick up the persona games when they’re next on sale

Be ready for the most banging soundtracks you ever heard in your LIFE.

The fact that some reviewers are saying this game has some of Meguro’s best music so far.

asset reuse as well. Square put Rebirth out in 3.5 years and that game is MASSIVE

disagree with the last point big time. doesnt make a whole lot of sense. ideally you want your ace director leading your ace series instead of splitting teams like this, unless you have multiple at a studio. really it's just a bad example with TLOU because that is a very director-driven series. for something like FF I agree (they already do this anyway).
every game already isnt an "extremely cinematic oscar bait game." I wish you ppl would get over this twitter-core style of posting already

i see your point and not to nitpick but it was ff 9, 10, 11 - yoshinori kitase directed both 8 and 10
that being said apparently the new game is great and we got a persona remake earlier this year so just let them cook for a second?
