CM Punk’s been known to get that angry about things like Kevin Steen wearing a t-shirt when wrestling a ROH match.
Dude’s just not in control of his emotions.
How you figure it could cause a problem for the brand
Meaning that if it's confirmed that The Elite/TK are the ones that got this thing started outside of TK mentioning that he pulled Boom Boom man, (not absolving Punk mind you) I can see folks getting sour on AEW as a whole. Not the wrestlers but the audience. I could be wrong though.
With the elite back and MJF as champ. It’s gonna be very interesting to see how ticket advances/ticket sales are. I just have a feeling this “reboot” isn’t going to pick up and we’re in one mid run to revolution. Hopefully I’ll eat my words and you can all clown me for it. Didn’t even Hangman have a hard time moving the needle as champ? But that’s also on TK for not making anything interesting for him as champ.
Punk def the type to get pissed and be mad for years tho which doesn't help anyone, including himself.

prolly just me but tweener mjf winning title didnt feel like that big of a deal. maybe cuz the match was ok or that the result was expected
But the results of the investigation aren't out. And talks of contract buyout are still not verified. So it's speculation to say Punk's the culprit of the brawl, based on Elite returning and the fact that AEW and Punk are silent on his status.
But i agree with your point that if the deadlock is due to punk's unwillingness to squash the beef and just move on, then that's just on him
The results of the investigation are pretty clear with The Elite returning to work in their original positions and no punishments levied against them.
In a corporate investigation of that kind if they had anything out of order on them they would have gotten some sort of demotion. You have to in a situation when higher management are involved in a physical altercation with an employee at the workplace.
Look, there could be a miracle in the last quarter where Punk gets some sense about him and him, Tony and The Elite get in a room and hash it out. So in a sense you’re right, the buy-out might not be a done deal, more hostile situations have worked out.
But The Elite coming straight back to work scot free makes it safe to say how it concluded.

They aren't needle movers.
That's just facts. Not even Omega to some extent.

44 years old cant be having one strike mentality

I haven’t had a chance to watch but I don’t think MJF has anyone to face that’ll keep his run hot imo.
They're all complicit.lmao
This ain't gonna go away until the results of the investigation, and even afterwards.
TK/The Elite come out of this on the wrong end could spell problems for the brand considering how polarizing Punk is. They won't fold, but they'll certainly take a hit.
They were always gonna take a hit regardless just because Punk is their biggest star.
He was always gonna be this level of risk with his attitude problems and they just gotta take the hit on the chin.

Omega def. The Young Bucks have their audience. I like them all, I just don’t think they add anything to the shows. I find their segments super corny. YB could leave tomorrow and I don’t think it leaves a dent in the company.
While what happened is terrible. Some of the fans are acting like Punk pulled a gun out to the Young Bucks wife’s head. There is a lot more in the wrestling business to be mad about than a stupid fight backstage.

A lot of people would still side with the Elite just based off the fact that they think it’s ridiculous how obsessed Punk is with Cabana over a lawsuit that he dragged Colt into.
WWE gave Cabana an out and said they would remove his name off the lawsuit if he took the podcast offline and Colt was more then happy to but Punk told him to keep it on there and he would pay for all his legal costs.
Regardless of their friendship coming to an end it’s still foul to then stop paying what he promised when he was the one who got Colt into the situation in the first place.

Nah bro they aren’t needle movers. Omega’s return match on Dynamite saw a dip in ratings lmao.

Ratings didn’t drop with Hangman and in fact he got some really great quarters for them as champ.
I hate this “Hangman was a failure as champ” narrative that’s going around when he kept the ship steady throughout his run.
Nothing personal, I just find their stuff to be corny. I get why some people like it though

Omega had some great quarters as champ.
Calling him a non needle mover is off too.

Type of guy where the barista misspells his name on his coffee cup one time and every other time he comes in he wants to be served by someone else.

I’m not saying he was a failure. I leave the rest to TKs incompetence on delivering any solid storylines.
I think American pro wrestling in general has a super hard time creating any story for the challenger having any sense of believability to beat the champion.
I haven’t had a chance to watch but I don’t think MJF has anyone to face that’ll keep his run hot imo.
Starks
Kingston
Wardlow
Omega
Danielson
Claudio
Hangman
Cole
PAC
Darby
Could get a whole year out of them with the right tv.

Good list
Starks has potential but he’s still green imo. He needs a TNT championship run first, like Rock or HHH in 1998
Tripping on PAC though lmao
WWE has its first hot storyline in years with this Bloodline stuff. How much longer can they keep this going and stretching it out until fans start giving up. Vince created a disaster with the Midcard and it showed during the Rumble.
AEW had MJF/Punk which we all had an idea would be pretty good granted how both present and carry themselves in the wrestling bubble.
I just don’t see anything hitting the same with MJF and whoever he faces next. The lack of believable stars that throw any sense of WHAT IF has gone out the window due to TK shelving people when they get white hot.

Top babyface never really have great long title runs.
Remember how many times babyface Austin and Rock would win the title and then lose the title not long after? The interest is more in the chase for a top babyface.
Really hard to keep an audience invested in a long term babyface champion these days.

But the way WWF was presented was the title could change hands any min.

This short run up to Winter Is Coming should help him a ton.
He doesn’t need to win, he just needs to have a showing that makes him feel like a main event player.
A****** PAC vs. chickenshit MJF would work.
