    That's a strange thought!

    it is!

an isolationist america would be great how many times is America gonna make the sons and daughters of poor families go fight in wars that only benefits America elites before the lesson to be implemented in americas head. Though in the context of the republicans it does unfortunately come with the racial tensions they love to stroke, which is a understandable fear.

I don’t really see the russia/china alliance as destructive China has shown to respect peoples self determination internationally more than america ever had and the alliance between the two seem to be an alliance of circumstances more than anything

  • Feb 22, 2022

that's already happened, left-leaning thought being suppressed in lieu of right wing thought.. just so you know

but that's by design of the power structure and a lot of the actual "left" views are very popular with people, the government just doesn't want to acknowledge it for many reasons

the problem with Zizek and Fisher and i read and love there work (more so Fisher) is that it really nothing more than a critique or an a***ysis but not a strategy for action like Lenin would be of course adjusting for time and place.

Also that might be the case for the average person currently but things are always changing and are not gonna stay the same for long, let’s not forget that America has had strong communist movements in the 30s and 60s which are a long way from now but it only shows that it’s possible.

Don’t really wanna rail this thread off more than it already has.

That’s mostly because the US is entirely predicated on colonialism, exploitation, slavery, imperialism, etc.

There isn’t really a unifying cultural identity since American society has always been split between a working and owning class

The US will likely collapse before it goes left

honestly i wouldn’t even consider Zizek a leftist wasn’t he part of the liberal party in Yugoslavia. His work has of course influence Marxism but his actually takes seem to be just anti-pc liberal s***

yea my bad ik we like to pretend like US influence is satan himself but i actually like the relation colombia and the US have thats allowed my family to come to this country and enjoy what it has to offer

way better opportunities than what we left behind

so yea compared to what we left the US is in much more solid standing (although it has gotten worse since Trump)

the US used the "war on d****" to exploit and devastate the people of columbia in the 80s and 90s.

"In 1986, the U.S. Defense Department funded a two-year study by the RAND Corporation, a private organization with a long and close relationship with the U.S. government.46 This study found that the use of the armed forces to interdict d**** coming into the United States would have little or no effect on cocaine trafficking and might in fact raise the profits of cocaine cartels and manufacturers."

even the f***ing us government recognized that their action there was making the d*** problem worse while at the same time allowing the US to exploit Colombian people and natural resources.

"During the early- to mid-1990s, the Clinton administration ordered and funded a major cocaine policy study, again by RAND. The Rand D*** Policy Research Center study concluded that $3 billion should be switched from federal and local law enforcement to treatment. The report said that treatment is the cheapest way to cut d*** use, stating that d*** treatment is twenty-three times more effective than the supply-side "war on d****".51 President Clinton's d*** czar's office disagreed with slashing law enforcement spending.52"

    all to enrich themselves.

and then used the "war on terror" to do the exact same thing this time focusing on exterminating anybody who defied the imperialist forces committing countless human rights crimes and exterminating countless civilians in the process.

also after decades of blatantly assassinating any popular leftist candidate and encouraging mass violence against any left movements.

its actually hilarious you are so americucked you think the relation the US has with colOmbia is good

They're not all ethnically Russian. You do realize non-Russians live there too?
