And what excuse is that for them to simply parrot whatever they’re fed? Why are we still so tolerant of people just uncritically receiving and supporting what they see after decades of proof that doing such just manufactures consent for our governments to kill innocent people to further their agendas?

It’s always going to be better for society for people to follow opinions derived from a consensus of experts that were democratically installed than it is to make up their own uneducated opinions based on reading twitter threads on the toilet. Is it always correct, foolproof and ethical? No, but it’s the best we have.

stop downplaying the presence of the far right, it doesn't help anyone but them. the existence of the far right doesn't necessarily mean that no aid should be sent to Ukraine, or that Ukraine is a "Nazi state", but don't be disingenuous - there IS an undeniable far right problem in Ukraine and most other Eastern European countries for that matter. The reason this tired topic keeps being repeated itt is because many people can't even admit this! Just because the far-right doesn't literally control the Ukrainian parliament doesn't mean that they're widely unpopular - would you make the same claim about the United States?

in 2017 there were more anti-Semitic attacks in Ukraine than all former Soviet countries combined.

In 2018 the Human Rights Watch condemned Ukraine for not adequately investigating the growing number of hate crimes:

Since the beginning of 2018, members of radical groups such as C14, Right Sector, Traditsii i Poryadok (Traditions and Order), Karpatska Sich and others have carried out at least two dozen violent attacks, threats, or instances of intimidation in Kyiv, Vinnitsa, Uzhgorod, Lviv, Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk, and other Ukrainian cities. Law enforcement authorities have rarely opened investigations. In the cases in which they did, there is no indication that authorities took effective investigative measures to identify the attackers, even in cases in which the assailants publicly claimed responsibility on social media.

I gotta say i don't have any respect for americans who acknowledge the mistakes the US made in Afghanistan for example, circlejerking abt being supposedly critical and not falling for govt propaganda, it's all useless posturing

Every single time it happens in the present moment, mfs fall for it

Literally every time, almost feels like they're trolling but nah they're legitimately that dumb
