I can see it actually happening just as a way to say hes better than trump, especially after he let trump wait for a meeting last time and was laughing while asked

Doesn't really matter tho. It's designed to be rejected so Europe can portray Russia as uncompromising to Trump. No one in Russia's position is accepting an unconditional ceasefire. Why would they just stop without any terms or agreement?

Europe hasn't been relevant during these talks and just wants to appear like its doing something. You don't hold diplomacy with another country, don't call them, but expect them to adhere to ultimatums? There's been so much instability in Europe that Putin doesn't even personally know the leaders of UK and Germany.

They're saying if Putin rejects they'll ramp up support for Ukraine, but even if he accepts, they'd just spend the 30 days ramping up support for Ukraine while its troops get a rest anyways. Its lose-lose

Russias baseline for negotiations is their “Istanbul plus” offer of conceding 4 regions and recognizing Crimea at the minimum. Him throwing that location in was intentional

Europe/Ukraine issued an ultimatum to Russia to randomly accept to stop fighting with no conditions before talking and Putin proposed talking while Russia still fights on a date that intentionally falls after their deadline. Will they continue with their threat or go along with talks? Will this sway Trump a little? He didn’t say anything about Europe participating also
