Yeah it's probably just you who's keeping tags on me and mentioning me in posts I normally wouldn't see.
Never seen anything from you on this site aside from name calling, uncalled for insults, telling people to kill themselves, and hostility even towards people that agree with you. I really hope for the people around you that you don't act the same way in real life.

One thing i'll say i was susceptible to the realist argument that it was nato expansion that provoked russia into doing this, but now that i look at it theres so many holes in that argument

obviously american imperialism was responsible and russia was forced to compete with the US on those terms, this has nothing to do with IR
inter-imperialist competition is the natural result of market logic

World empire with unlimited money and weapons vs little petro state with some industry. It's really not hard to deduce who is more interested in this war and who tried to negotiate neutrality for a decade.

There's layers to the argument but the NATO one does have credence. The U.S government has known that could be the potential trigger to a Ukraine military scenario for over 15 years. Particularly since the 08 NATO Summit when Ukraine and Georgia were offered paths.
Then-Russia Ambassador William Burns (current CIA DIRECTOR) explained it himself following series of meetings with Russian officials in a cable to U.S leadership that was leaked by Wikileaks.

5. (C) Ukraine and Georgia's NATO aspirations not only touch
a raw nerve in Russia, they engender serious concerns about
the consequences for stability in the region. Not only does
Russia perceive encirclement, and efforts to undermine
Russia's influence in the region, but it also fears
unpredictable and uncontrolled consequences which would
seriously affect Russian security interests. Experts tell us
that Russia is particularly worried that the strong divisions
in Ukraine over NATO membership, with much of the
ethnic-Russian community against membership, could lead to a
major split, involving violence or at worst, civil war. In
that eventuality, Russia would have to decide whether to intervene; a decision Russia does not want to have to face.
Russia invaded off of this exact argument following a 2014-2022 "civil war" (proxy war) between Donetsk and Lugansk vs Ukraine. Are there other clear geopolitical dimensions to this? Absolutely. One can name several. But did the NATO argument still have a role? Yes. Russia invaded Georgia mere months after that same NATO summit also
Trump just met zelensky and said he agreed putin cant win

Around 1200 Russian soldiers die or are injured every day (based on US stats tho). Wonder when it's enough for Russians

there is 0 chance that’s even close to being accurate lmao

that would be ridiculously high for the current state of the war
the US estimates 600,000 casualties, which would be about half of your rate on average. it's probably far lower than that given the current state of the conflict.
Nobody got in any updates? What's this about North Korean troops in Russia?
