Ukraine's been stuck in a bind since late 2022, and aren't in position to succeed in the east after that horrendous thing they called an "offensive" last year. People care less and less, they aren't receiving nearly as much support because they're secondary to Israel, are low on men, and can't fail before November 2024 (US elections). This move is a clever way to distract from that and get good PR. Doesn't do anything to achieve what they need

If the clown just let actual military people like Zaluzhny make decisions this could have been negotiated by now with a result Ukraine could have presented as a "win" to its people. Now it's just a series of weird schemes that will go nowhere in the end.
